Thoroughly enjoyed yesterday's CATCH EDIB Network, it's always great to hear and share some ideas with the network members. Key takeaways from yesterday's session, especially from a recruitment perspective: ❓ Website accessibility Ensuring your website is optimised and accessible for everyone is crucial. Is your website user-friendly for all, including those with disabilities? ❓ Inclusivity beyond accessibility Accessibility doesn't always equate to inclusivity. What proactive steps are you taking to make everyone feel included? ❓ Employee consultation Regularly consulting with your employees about improving processes is essential. Do your people feel they belong and are heard in your workplace? ❓ Interview process accessibility Is your interview process genuinely accessible, or do you assume everyone can navigate your preferred method? Flexibility in interview methods is key. ❓ Supportive facilities Offering facilities like a quiet room, prayer room, breastfeeding room etc., can make a significant difference. Are these facilities available in your workplace? or does this sound alien to you? ❓ Building trust and belonging People stay where they feel a sense of trust and belonging. What initiatives are you implementing to reduce attrition and foster a supportive environment? There are industries that are less inclusive and we have a long way to go, but nothing changes if nothing changes! Here at Huxons Recruitment we are dedicated to learning and unlearning, expanding our knowledge and educating our partners, we want to do more than recruiting. We focus on recruiting AND employer branding! 🦅 Thank you for having us once again Paul McCartan 🤝
We held an inspiring network meeting, with 40 people joining us in person and online. Paul McCartan, our new chair (from Yara International) opened the meeting with a recap of the Biz Week EDIB conference and the topics we have covered in previous meetings. Paul welcomed INEOS as our newest charter signatory and additionally, we're excited to see delegates from Stork UK, North East Lincolnshire Council, Huxons Recruitment, British Steel, Future Humber & Apprentice Employment Agency join us for the first time. A special thanks to Jason Buwanabala and Anika (PwC) for their insightful presentation on EDIB data, emphasising the importance of legal and cultural aspects, effective communication, and transparency in building trust. They also provided valuable updates on the Race and Disability Bill. Wayne Pulford (Answer Digital) delivered a thought-provoking presentation on accessibility, highlighting essential tools for self-checking websites and presentations and considering all aspects of communication and in-person adjustments for accessibility. We appreciate everyone who participated in the open discussions and shared their projects and deliverables! We missed Nina Stobart our outgoing chair - we will celebrate with you at our next meeting in September! For further information please contact Lisa Buck CATCH Katie Hedges Katy Sidell

When you’re delivering DE&I training: ❌ DON’T piggyback off social awareness events or host one-off company seminars with no follow-up Not only does this have little-to-no effect on the actual behaviour of your people, but virtue signalling with awareness events can make it seem insincere. Instead: ✅ DO implement a genuine initiative that includes bias training, anonymous feedback, continuous engagement and diversity audits. This way, your people can embrace shared values while engaging in honest communication. Bias training allows you to promote more empathy across your team, making a more inclusive future for everyone. If a DE&I initiative is something you’re looking to build, we have a range of programmes and delivery methods that can help you get your team onboard. 🏆 The Benefits of Friendly Competition: What We Learned from Our Team Event!🏆 Recently, our team got together for a day of friendly competition, and it taught us a lot about working together. Here's what we found out: 1️⃣ Stay Focused: When we're competing, we pay more attention and try harder. This helps us do better in both the competition and our regular work. 2️⃣ Be Friends: Even though we're competing, we still support each other. Cheering for our teammates and celebrating their wins makes us feel like a stronger team. 3️⃣ Learn and Grow: Competition pushes us to do our best, even when it's tough. When we win, it feels great, but even when we don't, we learn something new that helps us get better next time. 4️⃣ Feel Good: Competing is exciting! It makes us happy and boosts our energy. That positive feeling sticks around and makes our workdays better too. 5️⃣ Work Together: Through competition, we get to know each other better. We learn what we're good at and where we can help each other, making us a stronger team overall. Overall, our team event showed us that friendly competition isn't just about winning—it's about working together, having fun, and becoming better colleagues. If you had joined Crue Club at the start of 2024, you would have had access to 24 events, connecting with 217 E&P Operators from over 120 companies. You would have been part of 90+ hours of uninterrupted discussions where operators shared their challenges, decision-making insights, and the solutions they’re pursuing. And we have 4 remaining events! Imagine the genuine connections you could have built, and the opportunities that only arise when you’re connected with the right people. If you weren’t at the table, who was?* It could have been your competition. For 2025, we’re limiting full membership to just 5 spots per season, giving access to all events (3/month). But don’t worry—single event sponsorships will also be available for those who want to attend one or a few events. Don’t let this opportunity slip by. Join the waiting list now to be first in line. Because if you’re not at the table… your competition will be. Apply: www.connectioncrue.com #ofs #oilgas #oilandgasindustry #roundtable #crueclub
