In the context of our program “Partners for International Business - Dutch Coalition for Defense and Security (PIB DCDS)”, our Embassy organised together with Hellenic Aerospace Security & Defense Industries Group (HASDIG) a Knowledge 2 Knowledge Symposium about Innovation in the Defense sector, and in particular about the F-35 program. A group of Dutch companies have travelled to Greece, together with high-level experts from the Dutch Ministry of Defense, and the Netherlands Industries For Defense & Security (NIDV) to meet with their Greek counterparts. After introductory presentations from both countries, the Dutch delegation shared success stories and lessons learned regarding the F-35 and highlighted related products. The second day was dedicated to a visit at the Hellenic Aerospace Industries (HAI) where our delegation was shown around the HAI premises and were able to extensively discuss with the HAI Board of Directors and government representatives. The reactions from both the Greek and Dutch side were very positive; both nations acknowledge the importance of innovation and this awareness creates the potential for bilateral collaboration between Greece and the Netherlands. The prospects of cooperation in the aerospace sector are very apparent, for example with the introduction of the F-35 in the Hellenic Airforce. It is known that the Netherlands has been an international member of the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) program since 2001, and there could be collaboration between governments, industries, and also the aviation of the two countries.
