I made it into The Economist! (TheEconomist Newspaper Limited - https://lnkd.in/gi3W_mTC). This letter was apart of my insurgency to return context to Army doctrine. I was afraid that the writers in the Economist had been sold the hype of futurist visions of war in the Pacific. This hype machine uses simplistic allusions to WWII island hopping to sell the military on high-end capabilities at the expense of thinking through the specific context of a war with China. China is not Imperial Japan. It has limited territorial interests. It has an entirely different political and strategic culture. If we are to deter China, we need to be specific on how we are defending Taiwan and not have a vague strategy relying on pinprick, high-end capabilities. Strategic ambiguity on our commitment to the Republic of Korea led to the Korean War.

What a scene last night! I saw my Panthers 🏒 win their 2nd consecutive Eastern Conference Title. While we ran out of steam last year, got an RFE, and lost in the Finals to Vegas, we are hoping to go straight EB-1A and take home the Stanley Cup this time. 2nd time will be a charm. Ken Nickel-Lane, will we be waiting for your Edmonton Oilers so it can be a true cross-border TN matchup? I hope so. This way we can have some LinkedIn trash talk. If Dallas wins, then it will be less interesting from an immigration and international law perspective. Also, if the Finals have Florida v Edmonton, it might be the farthest geographic distance between 2 Stanley Cup opponents of all time. - Florida is the farthest South - Edmonton is the farthest North - Edmonton a whole heap West as well. If it is Florida v Edmonton it will be some long plane flights. Probably a wide-body aircraft is in store. Boeing 757/767? Airbus A350? * Interesting note None of the Florida Panthers wanted to touch the Prince of Wales Trophy (for winning the Eastern Conference).
