Tips on how to prepare for a conference 📌Preparing for a conference can help you maximize its benefits and opportunities. 📌I have attended over 50 conferences. The benefits I have gained include presenting my work, learning about new research, and networking. 📌Define what you want to achieve, whether it's networking, learning about new research, or presenting your work. 📌Understand the conference's theme, scope, and topics. 📌Prepare your abstract in advance if you aim to present your work. 📌Share your abstract with colleagues to review before submission. 📌Sharing and reviewing based on the inputs you receive improves your chances of securing a scholarship. 📌You can attend an abstract writing workshop, it helps. 📌If you did not get a scholarship, register as soon as possible to secure your spot and take advantage of early bird discounts. 📌Book your travel and accommodation early for the best rates and availability. Reshare, repost and add more tips in the comment section. Remember to save the date! 🗓️ Join us for Africa CDC's flagship conference, #CPHIA2024 in Rabat, Morocco, from November 26-29, 2024. This pivotal event will focus on advancing strategies for achieving Universal Health Coverage and Health Security in Africa. Don't miss this opportunity to be part of the future of public health in Africa! Registration details to follow soon. #Africa #Conference #GlobalHealth #HealthSecurity #Healthsystemstrengthening

My work on locally-led development aspects in Bangladesh. the title of the work is - Patterns and Determinants of Community Participation in Community Clinics in Rural Bangladesh. This paper aims to assess the patterns, determinants and magnitude of local peoples’ involvement in community clinics (CCs) in rural Bangladesh. The effectiveness and sustainability of CCs are believed by local people to be greatly enhanced by the implementation of a community-participatory strategy, provided that the goals behind this approach are really adhered to and put into action. Hence, conducting comprehensive research is necessary in order to develop future action plans that may improve the quality, magnitude and level of community engagement in CCs. Aside from its scholarly contribution to public healthcare management, the findings may be useful for policymakers who are involved in the decision-making processes of CCs.

🌍Learn-Participate-Protect the Environment!🌍 🗨️The policy leaders ask for the input of the public during policy making through public consultations. But the procedures, complexity and lack of public information about public consultations do not actually encourage their participation. 📅On Monday, the 29th of April, iSea and The Green Tank present the new report "12 years of public consultation on the environment through OpenGov: Citizen participation and the opinion of young people" and the results of the overall project implemented since 2021. 👉Find more about the event here: https://bit.ly/3UethYV 👉Join it online: https://bit.ly/3xY2R65 The event will be conducted in the context of 🌍 “Learn-Participate-Protect the Environment” 🌍, implemented within the Active citizens fund Greece program. ✅Find more information about the goals and actions of the project here: https://bit.ly/3BliO5g

The forthcoming WHO Fifth Webinar on ''Strengthening community engagement through digital literacy and transformation" will take place on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, from 14:00 to 16:00 (CEST), via Zoom in English. In traditional community engagement approaches, physical presence and face-to-face communication foster meaningful human interactions significantly influencing emotions, strengthening social cohesion, and driving collective actions. In this ever-changing landscape of communication through digital transformation, tremendous convenience, speed of connectivity and timely interactions continue to transform human interactions while building a social fabric known as the "Network Society." Striking a balance between traditional modes of in-person community engagement and leveraging the transformative power of digital technologies to build well-being communities and societies alongside addressing risks through a variety of measures is a mesmerizing topic to inspire conversations for moving forward. The webinar series is co-organized with the International Union for Health Promotion and Education - IUHPE and Alliance for Health Promotion - A4HP | Genève Internationale (geneve-int.ch) Please use the link on the poster to register and join the webinar to share your experiences, issues, and thoughts. We're glad to still be receiving continuous positive feedback about the 7th annual E2A Conference. On today's reading list is the Africa Evidence Network (AEN) newsletter, in which Siziwe Ngcwabe (BA Social work, MBA, MPM.), AEN Director, shares her experiences and insights. Check out the insightful article below!
And it's a wrap! #Day2 of #AfricaEvidenceWeek2024 is over. We're excited to share the August edition of our #AENnewsletter, which features Siziwe Ngcwabe (BA Social work, MBA, MPM.)'s highlights from the 7th annual Evidence to Action Conference held in Ghana and co-hosted by the International Centre for Evaluation and Development (ICED). We also feature an event hosted by IDinsight where participants from the government, non-governmental organisations, and civil society talked about using cutting-edge data and evidence-based tactics to guarantee equitable development. Our Africa Evidence Leadership Award (AELA) runners-up shared their work, and we're happy to share their blog posts: https://lnkd.in/d7W9_k53. We would like to welcome our #AENspotlight for this month, Cynthia Lamisi Anaba, a Health Policy and Systems Administrator at the Catholic Health Service Trust in Ghana. She joined the #AEN because she believes that her background and passion for evidence-based decision-making in healthcare align closely with the network's mission to promote evidence-informed policy and practice across Africa. In her current role, she has gained extensive experience in designing and implementing health policies and managing healthcare systems. Throughout her career, she has consistently advocated for the use of robust evidence to inform policy decisions and improve health outcomes. She is particularly interested in the network's focus on capacity building and knowledge sharing across the continent. We also welcome a new organisation, ar-mel, a collaborative platform for programme monitoring and evaluation. They would like to collaborate and contribute to the AEN's mission of ending poverty and inequality across Africa. The platform, based in Togo, is dedicated to research, monitoring, evaluation, and learning for development and humanitarian programmes. Their team, comprised of seasoned multidisciplinary practitioners, have successfully completed over fifteen evaluations for development and humanitarian programmes across various African countries. They focus on social innovation with and for children, adolescent girls and boys, and adults. ar-mel's gender-balanced team brings considerable expertise, as well as experience in applying internationally recognised models of good practices. They are confident that their intercultural and intergenerational facilitation skills, along with their commitment to creativity and adaptability, will make them a valuable addition to the AEN community. #E2AbyICED #AELA #E2A2024 #AfEW2024 #Africalovesevidence

🌐 Exciting News! 🚀 Technical Assistance for Business Environment and Investment Climate (BEIC) Project, funded by the European Union, is making great strides! 🔗 We're thrilled to announce the development of the E-PPD prototype portal, crafted with direct stakeholder involvement. This achievement wouldn't be possible without our synergistic partnerships, notably with GIZ's Private Sector Development (PSD-E) project in Ethiopia, MoTRI, MinT, and ECCSA. 🤝 Through collaborative efforts, we've facilitated BEIC's active participation in consultative meetings, ensuring a holistic approach to enhancing our business environment. 📲 The E-PPD prototype offers an electronic tool to embrace and implement international best practices in Public-Private Dialogue (PPD). It covers crucial aspects such as roles, procedures, institutional responsibilities, and more, paving the way for transparency, inclusiveness, and effectiveness. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to empower and innovate! 💼💡 #BEIC #EU #GIZ #PSDEthiopia #BusinessDevelopment #Innovation #Collaboration
Enhancing public-private dialogue (PPD) in Ethiopia. BEIC Project Ethiopia supports the project's direct partners in the development of Public-Private Dialogue (PPD) platforms with the aim of fostering conversations between the government and private sector. The project co-developed an electronic Public-Private Dialogue portal with the Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations (ECCSA), with input from different actors such as the Ministry of Trade and Regional Integration (MoTRI) and other donor projects working on PPD. Upon its official launch, the platform is anticipated to offer the following benefits: 1. Accessibility and Inclusivity: Provides a centralized and accessible platform for stakeholders from both public and private sectors, ensuring inclusivity and representation. Allows participants to engage in dialogues regardless of geographical constraints, fostering broader and more diverse discussions. 2. Efficiency and Transparency: Streamlines communication processes, reducing bureaucratic delays and promoting efficiency in decision-making. Enhances transparency by making information, policies, and discussions readily available to all stakeholders, fostering trust and accountability. 3. Data-Driven Decision Making: Collects and analyzes data generated through dialogues, offering valuable insights for evidence-based policymaking. Helps identify trends, challenges, and opportunities, enabling informed decisions that align with the needs of both sectors. 4. Cost-Effectiveness: Reduces costs associated with traditional methods of communication and dialogue, such as physical meetings, travel, and paperwork. Offers a sustainable and cost-effective solution for continuous engagement and collaboration. 5. Feedback Mechanism: Serves as an efficient feedback mechanism, allowing stakeholders to provide input on policies, regulations, and initiatives. Promotes a continuous loop of feedback and adjustment, ensuring that policies reflect the evolving needs of the business environment. #Ethiopia #Business #BEIC #GIZ #EuropeanUnion #EaseofDoingBusiness #EGovernment #DigitalTransformation #DigitalEthiopia #PublicPrivateDialogue

Want to learn how survivor-centered #SEAH investigations can improve outcomes, rebuild trust, and hold perpetrators accountable? Catch up on the CHS Alliance event from #HNPW2024! 5 takeaways: 🟡 Guided by the "do no harm" principle, the survivor-centered approach prioritizes safety, respect, and survivor well-being. 🟡 The presence of trained investigators who are women can encourage others to report SEAH incidents in societies where cultural norms may make speaking out more difficult. 🟡 Providing accessible training for local and national #CSOs will increase access to survivor-centered investigations globally. As Tiheyis Tibebu highlights below, this is crucial for expanding reach. 🟡 To date, IQTS has trained individuals across 70+ countries (and counting). 🟡 CHS Alliance is launching a community of practice to support newly-trained investigators as well as a roster of investigators.
