You can't build a successful organization without building a safe community. The power of safe spaces can't be overstated here. When people feel safe, they can: 🗣 Speak up 🔗 Create bonds ✨ Innovate 🔥 Thrive But creating safe spaces isn't easy. It takes education, empathy, and work. To start, give people ways to approach sensitive topics. 1) Use inclusive language 2) Provide resources 3) Listen, and learn from others. 4) Don't aim for perfection, but progress. 5) Bring people together, don’t divide them. This is exactly what I've done at Umaversity. I've created an environment where everyone feels safe to discuss and share sensitive topics related to mental health, body, and sexual wellness. Our diverse community includes individuals of all genders, from 45 different cultures, and ages ranging from 20 to 65. Here, people openly engage in conversations about topics that society often deems taboo. The result? An eye-opening experience that builds understanding, connection, and growth. Bring this level of openness and empowerment to your organization. ➡ Book me as a keynote speaker to inspire and educate your team on creating a safe and inclusive environment for all to share, connect and feel valued. www.josarah.com

🧠 Embracing Neurodiversity: Unlocking Innovation and Inclusivity 🌟 Neurodiversity Week is here March 18th - 24th to celebrate the unique strengths and perspectives that neurodiverse individuals bring to the workplace. Diversity is not just about ethnicity or gender – it's also about embracing neurological differences. Research shows that organisations that foster neurodiversity are more innovative, creative, and inclusive. Neurodiverse individuals often excel in areas such as problem-solving, pattern recognition, and out-of-the-box thinking, making them invaluable assets to any team. I'd love to know what your organisation is doing this week to foster a culture of acceptance, understanding, and support for neurodiverse individuals? https://lnkd.in/ewBMgFgH #NeurodiversityWeek #Inclusion #DiversityandInclusion #EmbraceNeurodiversity #WorkplaceInclusion #InnovativeWorkforce

Every March we mark Neurodiversity Celebration Week in our business, but this year we’ve been talking with members of our team and clients who are neurodivergent about what they’d like to see in how we recognise and celebrate this week. *Is celebration even the right term?* Is recognition not more important? And how do we carry this throughout the year, ensuring our commitments extend longer than an annual event? We all think differently. Embracing that is what can make our workplaces so vibrant, dynamic and supportive. This week is Neurodiversity Celebration Week, which is a worldwide initiative that challenges stereotypes and misconceptions about neurological differences. It aims to transform how neurodivergent individuals are perceived and supported by providing organisations with the opportunity to recognise the many talents and advantages of being neurodivergent, while creating more inclusive and equitable cultures that celebrate differences and empower every individual. What is the "work - to - picnic" pipeline?* This and many other intriguing questions were asked at a lovely session on #collectivecare by Act Build Change today. I really admire their work and jumped at the chance to build on past experience (leading a team that was generous and caring but without collective care properly embedded into organisational processes) as well as learning from a recent project stewarding a transformation programme (what does it mean to take trauma-informed approaches to working together). Some insights: 🌟 Identifying, sharing and co-creating boundaries as an exercise in shared understanding as well as an act of self-care 🌟 Really great collective care is embedded in organisational structures, processes and rhythms rather than an optional add-on that people choose 🌟 Feedback loops as an act of care * The "work - to - picnic" pipeline was a term coined during the workshop to describe one participant's experience of replacing their group's work sessions with picnics as this better met their shared need for relationship-building, trust, fun and CARE ❤️

Thanks Matthew Holman a great way to raise awareness of Neurodiversity, especially in the workplace. Neurodiversity is moving up the workplace agenda for two reasons. Companies wishing to be truly inclusive employers cannot exclude such a significant demographic as the neurodivergent. To continue doing so risks missing out on talent, and compromising on productivity and customer trust. More pertinently, the business case for diversity has highlighted the importance of ‘diversity of thought’ – get people with different perspectives, backgrounds and experiences in a room, and your team will be more innovative and creative. In a sense, neurodiversity may be one of the most challenging areas within diversity and inclusion in the workplace – complex, nuanced, and often invisible – yet it offers a business upside in this context: given that neurodivergent people literally think differently. ‘A lack of awareness and understanding has led to hiring processes, management practices and workspaces being designed only with neurotypicals in mind.’ Including people who are neurodivergent requires a conscious effort on the part of employers.
