There was a teacher that spoke about Ecotourism, which is a concept of tourism where the space of destination is preserved (eg. nature and environment are protected), where people can go and encounter the same beauty leaving as a legacy to other generations. Small changes will take place, maybe a tree will be replace but the roots of its family tree will remain. Identifying destination's assets -> potential attractions to tourists; -> why tourists visit a destination; -> areas requesting particular attention; -> planning its development and protecting initiatives of those key areas and surroundings. India's leopard population is estimated at 13,874 (Range: 12,616 – 15,132) individuals, representing stable population in comparison to the similar area being sampled in 2018 with 12852 (12,172-13,535) individuals. Along with leopard population, the leopard ecotourism in various forms are also growing in this country and introducing a very different concept in sustainability. Grant opportunity: Experience Nature Tourism Fund Open 08/07/24; Closes 16/08/24; $10,000 up to $50,000; SA The Fund aims to spur investment in nature-based tourism experiences and make South Australia more competitive in luring domestic and international tourists. Grants are for new and improved nature-based tourism products and experiences in or near a national park, reserve, wilderness protection area or marine park. The ENTF aims to showcase South Australia’s natural landscapes while also encouraging visitors to enjoy and learn more about these important natural and cultural assets. Grants are available via two funding streams: -Stream 1 – Quick Activation Projects, grants from $10,000 to $20,000. If there is one thing that regional and rural Australia is full off (aside from authentic people!) it's nature based assets. Tourism Research Australia data shows demand for nature-based visitor experiences grew by 47% from 2014 to 2023. Visitation to botanic or public gardens saw the highest growth at 85%, with the popularity of bushwalking and rainforest walks growing by 81%, and national or state park visitation rising by 73%! I have just returned from Cloncurry in Outback Queensland and once again was blown away by the natural beauty - dams and waterholes, Selwyn Ranges, contrasting colours - so many great opportunities to create meaningful visitor experiences that connect them with nature.
