Young girls, engaged in collaborative learning, symbolize the power of education in transforming lives and breaking cycles of inequality. On this Human Rights Day, marking the conclusion of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, we reaffirm our commitment to continue the fight for justice, equality, and the protection of every child's rights. 🌍 Today is International Human Rights Day! 🌍 This year, I'm especially reminded of the importance of standing up for our shared vision of a just and equitable world. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) calls on us all to create a society where dignity and respect for human rights are the foundation. Article 28 of the UDHR states: "Everyone is entitled to a social and international order in which the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration can be fully realized." This is more than just words—it’s a powerful call to action. It reminds us that human rights depend on the systems we build together. Governments, organizations, and individuals must work to address poverty, ensure access to education, protect vulnerable populations, and create a world that uplifts everyone. As we celebrate Human Rights Day, let’s recognize our interconnectedness and embrace the responsibility we all share to create systems that empower every individual. In the spirit of the day, I also want to highlight the conclusion of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence and proudly support the #ITakeMyHatOff campaign to honor those tirelessly fighting for justice and equality. So, here’s my challenge for you: What’s one thing you can do today to make the world more just, equitable, and kind? Let’s build that social and international order—one action at a time. #HumanRightsDay #Article28 #TakeAction #ITakeMyHatOff #StandUp4HumanRights #GlobalJustice #SocialOrder

📣Today is also International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. 💡We provide opportunities for our students to access empowerment and resources. 💡We support our students in overcoming systemic barriers that discriminate against under-resourced youth from diverse racial backgrounds, especially in education. ✔️95% of PM students graduate high school on time compared to rates as low as 60% in their home communities. 🧡💙💚 #InternationalDayForTheEliminationOfRacialDiscrimination #SystemicBarriers #EducationDisparities #YouthEmpowerment #Inclusion #ProjectMorry #OurYouth #OurCommunity #OurFuture ------ Image description: A teal background with scattered black dots. Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Intersectionality are at the core of our work at the Institute of Global Prosperity. “We continually strive to improve how we work together and collaborate with others in an equitable manner focused on social justice outcomes." – Professor Henrietta Moore, IGP’s Founder and Director But what does that actually mean? We: 🔎 – build our research around addressing inequalities and social justice. 📅 – host events on EDII and how these questions relate to inclusive visions of prosperity. 📚 – run projects to ensure our teaching materials and methods are inclusive. 🎓 – offer scholarships and programmes for students and graduates from under-represented backgrounds. *The Remarkable Mentorship Academy (REMA) Statement on International Human Rights Day 2024* Date: 10th December, 2024 Theme: “Our Rights, Our Future, Right Now” As we commemorate International Human Rights Day 2024, The Remarkable Mentorship Academy (REMA) stands in solidarity with all individuals and communities advocating for the recognition, protection, and fulfillment of human rights. This year’s theme, “Our Rights, Our Future, Right Now,” serves as a powerful call to action, urging us to prioritize human dignity, justice, and equality today for a brighter tomorrow. Human Rights are fundamental to sustainable development and peaceful coexistence. At REMA, we are dedicated to empowering young minds with the knowledge and skills needed to become informed, ethical leaders who advocate for human rights in every aspect of life. Through our mentorship programs, workshops, and community outreach, we emphasize the importance of rights such as education, freedom of expression, and non-discrimination, while encouraging young people to take responsibility for protecting these rights for others. This year’s theme reminds us that the time to act is now. Delayed justice is denied justice. Achieving a future where everyone enjoys equal opportunities and freedoms requires us to uphold human rights in the present. REMA calls on individuals, institutions, and policymakers to work diligently to address inequalities, challenge injustices, and ensure that every voice is heard. Together, let us make the principles of human rights the foundation of our shared future. Our Rights matter. Our Future depends on them. The time to act is Now. Today, December 10th, Human Rights Day is celebrated. ✊ The goal of Human Rights Day is to celebrate the rights guaranteed to every person by international #humanrights treaties and to remind us of the responsibilities related to these rights as well as the duty each of us has to promote human rights globally. One of the core missions of the #UnitedNations is to protect and promote the realization of human rights that are strongly embedded in the goals of #sustainabledevelopment. Today, especially, is important to reflect on what human rights mean, what they signify in everyday life and how we can promote human rights in schools, at workplaces, home. 📸 Pexels To find out more about USD project you can visit our website -https://lnkd.in/g92mVidw #USDproject #USDmeeting #Sustainabledevelopment #SGDs #UPO #VIKO #Savonia #OpenODS

These pasts weeks have held profound experiences as our co-founder, Isabel Marsh, has co-facilitated two community learning events focusing on the concept of decolonization within the Development Practice program at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs. It has been an honor to witness the diverse perspectives that emerged during our discussions. One of the biggest challenges we faced was cultivating an environment where everyone felt comfortable sharing their viewpoints. With participants ranging from current students to seasoned academics, navigating these differences in backgrounds was no easy task. The fear of power imbalances and positional dynamics could stifle the openness needed for meaningful exchange. However, we found strength in our commitment to recognizing the value of each individual's experiences. By establishing ground rules that emphasized the importance of all lived experiences, we created a space where every voice was heard and respected. This was crucial in fostering a more inclusive dialogue on colonialism, challenging the historical dominance of certain narratives. From the layout of the room to the structure of our discussions, every aspect was carefully considered to promote equality and mutual respect. It served as a powerful reminder that in the journey towards decolonization, creating spaces where everyone feels encouraged to contribute is essential. Big thanks to our client Dave for trusting us with this very important work, and to our wonderful partners Kayla Meyers, and Jen Mein #DecolonizationJourney #InclusiveDialogue #Thepoweroflivedexperience
