𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗡𝗧: 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆: 𝗯𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 As the EU accelerates its path towards climate neutrality, #electrification is one key pathway for industrial #decarbonisation, offering benefits such as energy and emission savings and long-term competitiveness. Nevertheless, industrial electrification faces significant hurdles. To address these, the European Commission is preparing an #ElectrificationActionPlan as part of the #CleanIndustryDeal. Against this backdrop we are excited to invite you to our upcoming in-person event in Brussels, organised in cooperation with Regulatory Assistance Project (RAP) and E3G. Together with leading experts and stakeholders will discuss critical questions such as: ⚡️ What are the latest advances in electrification technologies, and how can they be scaled across industries? ⚡️ How can policymakers create supportive frameworks to drive electrification uptake and innovation? ⚡️ What strategies can overcome existing barriers to progress? We will begin with insights from Agora Industry and RAP by Alexandra Langenheld (Agora Industry) and Jan Rosenow (𝗥𝗔𝗣), followed by a panel discussion with policymakers, NGOs and industry stakeholders. The discussion will focus on creating the necessary conditions to decarbonise key areas through direct electrification, while maintaining economic competitiveness and ensuring industrial resilience. Tom Howes (DG Energy, European Commission), Margareta Rončević (EASE - The European Association for Storage of Energy), Małgosia Rybak, EMBA (Cepi ), Domien Vangenechten (E3G) are joining us as panel guests. The event will be moderated by our Agora expert Andreas Graf, who will lead us through the noon sessions. Where do we stand in setting up multi-level dialogue platforms in six Member States? Multi-level governance promotes collaborative decision-making, inclusiveness, and the effective use of resources and expertise across different levels and sectors of governments and society. According to Article 11 of the Governance Regulation, Member States should implement multi-level governance processes when designing, implementing and monitoring national energy and climate policy, including when drafting their NECPs, which final updated drafts are due... in 4 days!   Within the #NECPlatform project, six Member States (Bulgaria, Croatia, France, Italy, Portugal and Romania) were supported in setting up such dialogues. Upon meeting in Lisbon to join the country’s 3rd CED, each country (and partner) provided updates on where they stand in the target of setting up the 6 dialogue platforms.
