What's the biggest opportunity in boutique fitness? 🤔 There's one 'easy' opportunity to stand out amongst the crowd It requires no formal qualifications, just a good attitude And very few clubs are doing this consistently (although I can name a few that are - so it is possible!) Infusing some hospitality fundamentals into your team's interactions is the quickest, easiest win. Little things, that have a big impact. Such as: ✅ Using names ✅ Smiling ✅ Showing GENUINE interest Simple, huh? But not always easy to execute consistently. Many business owners are quick to say (real quotes): "you just can't get the staff nowadays" Or "people leave quickly and there's no loyalty, so we don't spend time investing in them" With this mindset, it's impossible to deliver a high quality experience Added bonus - Coaching and inspiring your team to take small steps to CONNECT with members will have them feeling better about their job and will help retention - I've seen this first hand Do you think it's possible to get in-club teams to deliver great service? Which brands and clubs have you visited that do this well? Haven't subscribed to LIFTS Podcast with Mohammed Iqbal and Matthew Januszek yet? It's a great weekly round up of news and opinion - check it out on all the usual channels! #hospitality #thefitguide #fitnessindustry #escapeyourlimits #podcast

2 years ago today, episode #42 dropped! Read below for more info ⬇️ We’ve said many times before on the Wellness Paradox, if you don’t have profits, you don’t have a business, you have a hobby. When you have a hobby, you don’t have the ability to help very many people for very long. Marketing, sales, and strategic partnerships are critical elements of any fitness professional’s business, regardless if you’re a solo practitioner or running you’re a larger multipurpose health/fitness club (and everywhere in between). As important as business principles are, they are often forgotten about when fitness pros focus on their education. We’ll provide a reminder of their importance in this conversation when we to dive into the business side of fitness as we’re joined by Vanessa Severiano in episode 42. Vanessa is a growth strategist for fitness and wellness businesses and has been the industry to over two decades, working with large international fitness brands. She also hosts the Business Side of Fitness Podcast, which gives her the opportunity to interact with many of the leading professionals in our field. This combination of 20+ years of experience working with highly profitable brands, as well as the engaging conversations she has on her podcast gives her a unique and comprehensive view of the fitness business ecosystem. Many actionable takeaways in this podcast in terms of how to build trust, value, rapport, and partnerships, all in an effort to improve sales, profitability, and the ability to help more people lead healthy and fulfilled lives. We all can use to sharpen our business skills in the fitness industry if we’re going to make a true impact on public health and if we’re going to have long, stable careers helping people reach their health and fitness goals. 💥 New BuzopsPlay Episode Alert! 💥 and this time we bring the second part of our 3 chapter live coaching video where our co-founder Michael Benso coaches a head coach at Main Street Fitness. In this video we’re talking systems!!! Systems don’t just run businesses—they build trust. Imagine you're a gym owner or head trainer, surrounded by daily chaos: members walk in, and you juggle training, selling, and keeping them engaged. But there's a disconnect. You’re closing deals at 90% while others lag behind. Why? It’s not the people; it’s the missing system. ⭐ Michael Benso's story outlines a perfect example of this in action. In this episode, he helps a gym owner struggling with the daily grind and constant distractions. Without a solid CRM funnel and process, it’s not about personality, it’s about missed opportunities. Forgetting follow-ups? That's human. Lacking a system? That's a business problem. When a structured CRM handles outreach, text reminders, and member follow-ups, you free your team to do what they do best—train, engage, and build rapport. In the same way franchising systems ensure consistency across locations, your fitness club needs a process that captures leads, follows through on them, and brings everyone to the same level of service. This isn’t about rigid automation—this is about letting your passion shine while ensuring no one falls through the cracks. The missing link? It’s the system. Empower your team with tools to succeed, and watch how the consistency pays off—member sign-ups increase, consultations don’t get missed, and your staff has the freedom to focus on their strengths, building lasting relationships with clients. ⭐ Watch full episode here: https://lnkd.in/eSJadmvZ
