💪 The basis for Finland's consistent (seven times in a row!) no. 1 position in the World Happiness Report is explained by the high levels of #trust and #freedom in the society. In addition, the unique concept of #sisu plays a big part in Finland's culture and society. 🤝 Sisu is not just a character strength that contributes to getting things done, but also an aspiration for quality in how things are done. This is why Finns tend to strive towards best possible outcomes across all endeavours – enabling individuals and companies to succeed. 🤝 Essentially, sisu is one of the key elements in the creation of the Finnish welfare state, as we know it today. In just a century, Finland transformed from highly rural country, to an innovative, creative country with developed technology, and highly skilled workforce. 🤝 What well-known Finns say about trust, low hierarchies, and – of course – sisu? How can Australia cement its place as a cultural powerhouse - and what benefits would this deliver to our people, our nation and our region? These questions were explored by A New Approach (ANA) Chair Rupert Myer AO in his Address to the National Press Club, exactly one year ago today. Rupert's vision of a cultural powerhouse is a nation which cherishes its unique cultural inheritance, invests in its creators and cultural organisations, celebrates its creative industries and enables all its citizens to participate in meaningful cultural activities. If we can achieve this, Rupert said, "Australia can have a future in which our people are healthier and happier, our communities are more connected, our nation is more prosperous, and our region is more stable and sustainable". The impacts of arts, culture and creativity on our prosperity, cohesion, security, health and sustainability has been further demonstrated by ANA's latest report, 'Transformative Edge 2024'. This research brings together fact-based insights showing how culture and creativity can benefit the wellbeing of people and communities, and address some of Australia's deepest social, cultural and economic challenges. Connecting Islands and Cultures with Bridges The Philippines is an archipelago in Southeast Asia consisting of over 7,000 islands. This unique geographical feature has presented both challenges and opportunities for the people of the Philippines. One of the key challenges faced by the residents of the country is the difficulty in connecting different islands due to the vast bodies of water separating them. However, through the construction of bridges, the Philippine government has made significant strides in improving connectivity between islands and bridging the gaps between cultures. The Importance of Bridges in the Philippine Archipelago Building bridges across different islands in the Philippines is crucial for several reasons. Firstly, it enhances transportation and connectivity, allowing people and goods to travel more easily between islands. This is especially important for remote and isolated communities that rely on bridges to access essential services such as healthcare and education. Secondly, bridges play a significant role in promoting economic development by facilitating trade and commerc... Read more https://lnkd.in/gCr2-Aw6 #Bridges #Connecting #Cult...

The Kingdom of Atlantis Pte Ltd is a Singapore based Property Development Company, planning to develop THE CITY OF ATLANTIS, one of the most Unique and Iconic Private Corporate City on the shores of the magnificent Lake of Malawi. Private Corporate Cities, generally marketed as being better, cheaper and freer than existing state models, have become the new trend in the 21st century urban development. They are mixed-used developments where people live, work and play, that are presided over by a CEO rather than a mayor - a company rather than a government. In some ways, Private Corporate Cities are viewed as a "win-win" type of shortcut, as governments can get their new developments built for them via private capital rather than tax dollars and still take a cut of the earnings, while private firms can profit at each stage of the urbanization process. Private Corporate Cities, kind of like Special Economic Zones, often have their own sets of rules, which often run perpendicular to the laws of the nations they are geographically located withing. They are generally essentially developed on a land purchased by a private company that can be run as that private company sees fit. They are the perfect Solution, for new labor regulations, tax codes, financial laws business and property registration systems, and education models can be implemented and tested. The idea behind the Private Corporate City concept is: Get the government out of the way and let the people flourish and proper. Private Corporate Cities are appealing to many governments who want instant urban and economic development and believe that outsourcing to the private sector is efficient and lucrative. Real estate development companies and technology companies are attracted by the profits that stand to be made in the development of Private Corporate Cities and governments around the world are willing to cede land, utilities and control in the hopes of attracting foreign investors.
