Why limit your audience? 🌐 Embrace hybrid conferences to maximise reach, inclusivity, and profitability. Hybrid events ensure a broader audience by combining in-person and virtual participation, thus increasing engagement and potential revenue. In his article in the TES, William E. Donald emphasises that hybrid conferences are crucial for accessibility and inclusion, allowing disabled and marginalised scholars to participate. At Vievma, we specialise in creating engaging hybrid events that cater to all attendees. 📞 Partner with Vievma for your next inclusive and profitable event: https://buff.ly/3CpJfqa 📖 Read the article: Rejecting hybrid conferences reeks of ableism https://buff.ly/46c9IGj #HybridEvents #EventManagement #VirtualConferences #InclusiveEvents #ProfitIncrease #Vievma

Last week, together with the BG Be Active team, we attended the second meeting of the Movement Pills (MP) 2.0 project, led by Uisp Nazionale. This exciting initiative builds on UISP Bologna’s experience of working with pharmacies distributing the MP and local sport clubs, offering two months of free sporting activities to people who present a movement pills box. The goal of MP 2.0 is to transfer the concept and the learnings by piloting the project in Poland, Estonia, Greece, and Bulgaria. The project is supported by European Platform for Sport Innovation (EPSI) and ISCA - International Sport and Culture Association What’s particularly meaningful to me about this project is that back in 2014/2015, after visiting UISP and with their kind permission, I led the development of a more transferable version of MOVEment Pills suitable to be used in multiple countries and multiple settings supporting the global NowWeMove campaign. The international concept combined a tangible "Pills box", having its own prescription and with an online hub of activity ideas to address the most common self-reported barriers to physical activity, such as: - No money - No time - No place The hub provides videos of easy exercises that could be done at home, in the office, in parks, or using simple equipment like benches or stairs. You can check the hub here: https://lnkd.in/d6RzKYnk (videos filmed in Plovdiv, Bulgaria). Since 2015, BG Be Active has been an active implementer of the MOVEment Pills providing various free outdoor trainings. With the 2.0 version, the goal is to test the willingness of the Bulgarian health sector, particularly pharmacies, to support the promotion of Health Enhancing Physical Activity as an easily accessible remedy for all. The MP2.0 project implementation in Bulgaria is led by Svetlana Nencheva #urbanhealth #physicalactivity #beactive

ETS is happy to promote this excellent initiative - the Access City Award! The 2025 Access City Award competition is now open for applications. Cities across the EU with over 50 000 inhabitants are eligible to apply. If a country has fewer than two cities of this size, smaller cities can combine their populations to meet the 50 000-inhabitant requirement and apply together. This year, in honour of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the European Commission intends to award a Special Mention on ‘Accessible Sports Infrastructure’. This aims to recognise a city that has made high-quality and inclusive sports experiences accessible to all. Alongside the health benefits sports can bring, they can also provide an avenue for inclusion, integration and cohesion. The winners will be announced during the European Day of Persons with Disabilities Conference on 28 and 29 November 2024, with first, second and third place prizes and up to five special mentions being awarded, including the Special Mention for Accessible Sports Infrastructure. Applications must be completed and submitted online by 10 September 2024 (23:59 CET). Could your city be the 2025 EU winner? More information and how to submit your application? https://lnkd.in/eCMBCDMF

From Vision to Reality at the 12th ESLA Congress! Bringing the 12th Congress of ESLA European Speech and Language Therapy Association to life was an exhilarating challenge that required months of meticulous planning, precise logistics, and seamless collaboration. 2nd Annual Physical Activity Alliance Symposium – Key Takeaways Read this week's blog here: https://lnkd.in/gN6wPPzc I recently had the privilege of attending the 2nd Annual Physical Activity Alliance (PAA) Symposium, a gathering of over one hundred thought leaders from healthcare, education, public health, fitness, and policy-making sectors. The event focused on improving physical activity in the U.S. through collaboration and innovation. I have recapped the event in my most recent blog. Here are a few highlights: Opening Remarks Pam Watts, Board President of PAA, emphasized the need for cross-sector collaboration to drive systemic change in promoting physical activity. Panel Discussions Changing the Systems: Experts discussed transforming education, healthcare, public health, and exercise professions to better support physical activity. Pressing Issues: Topics included the role of anti-obesity medications, the connection between physical activity and mental health, military readiness, and addressing disparities in physical activity access. Leveraging Major Currents Toward 2028: Discussions centered on upcoming initiatives, including updates to Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans and the National Physical Activity Plan. Transforming the Culture: Panelists explored barriers to physical activity, including accessibility issues and community design. Finding Policy Opportunities: The final panel focused on leveraging policy to promote physical activity through legislative advocacy and partnerships. Key Innovations Introduction of the "It's Time to Move" app, designed to integrate physical activity data into electronic medical records. Presentation of Tivity Health's research on consumer behavior in health and wellness. The symposium highlighted the importance of uniting diverse sectors to promote physical activity. It emphasized not only the challenges we face but also the tremendous opportunities ahead as we work toward creating a healthier, more active nation. One area for future exploration is bridging the gap between policy/public health leaders and the facility, supplier, and financial community instrumental in implementing these initiatives. As we move forward, continued collaboration, innovative solutions, and strategic advocacy will be crucial in creating a brighter, more active future for all. #PhysicalActivity #PublicHealth #Wellness #HealthyLiving #PAA2024
