This photo was taken almost 20 years ago although it appears not dissimilar to a colourised wartime image. It depicts an MSS industrial cleaner hard at work on an industrial site in South Wales. Aside from health & safety and technological advances, the work is still similar. We are very proud of the men and women who operate in these environments for us. #IndustrialCleaning #FacilitiesManagement #COMAH #SafetyExcellence #MSSGroup

Within Canada we are also working on correcting a similar issue to ensure Public Safety Communicators have the right National Occupational Classification (NOC). This mission critical work needs to be classified correctly in the best interest of the members doing the work as the 1st First Responders. #publicsafetycommunications #911 #nocreview #policefireems911
"In the United States, children are taught to call 9-1-1 because the public trusts Public Safety Telecommunicators will be there to take appropriate action to protect them, potentially saving their lives and the lives of their loved ones. Law enforcement, fire/rescue, and emergency medical personnel rely on Public Safety Telecommunicators for their own safety and as a partner for protecting life and property. The work they perform goes beyond robotically receiving requests and dispatching resources. It’s life or death, and the current classification in the SOC should be changed." APCO's comments to the Office of Management & Budget to properly classify public safety telecommunicators within the Protective Service Occupations category are part-common sense appeal / part-rallying cry. It's time to recognize these critical heroes performing a no-fail mission on the frontlines of homeland security.

It's an honor to see such an important topic being addressed by the Canadian Association of Police Governance (CAPG). Gaslighting in the workplace, especially in high-stress environments like police settings, can have profound effects on individuals' mental health and the overall integrity of the organization. This webinar promises to be an essential learning opportunity for all involved in public safety, offering critical insights into recognizing, understanding, and addressing gaslighting behaviors. The agenda covering the understanding of gaslighting, its signs, specific examples within police settings, and interventions at both organizational and individual levels is comprehensive and crucial. Initiatives like this are pivotal in fostering a workplace culture that prioritizes mental health, supports its personnel, and ensures a safe and respectful environment for all members. Kudos to the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and all involved in organizing this event. I look forward to the discussions and outcomes from this webinar and the positive impact it will have on improving workplace environments within the police force. This is a significant step forward in addressing operational stress injuries and promoting healthier, more supportive work settings for our first responders. #Badgeoflifecanada #HopeGrowthRecovery #healthyworkplace
