TrioMed has just finalized the installation of the Philips MR7700 at the GOZO GENERAL HOSPITAL. This will be the 5th MRI installation in Malta for TrioMed. The project kicked off with the installation and commissioning of a Philips 1.5T Ingenia MRI on a trailer supplied by Benelux Imaging back in March 2024. We are happy to have helped more than 2,800 patients who have benefited from this machine until the installation and commissioning of the permanent MRI Machine. The second phase of the project consisted of the construction and finishing of the hospital extension accommodating this new 3T MRI machine. The third and final phase of the project was the actual installation and commissioning of the new Philips MR 7700. The high-quality implementation of this project was led by our Projects Manager Ian Vella in collaboration with all members of TrioMed’s Field Support Teams Mark Salnitro Charles Cascun Andreas Castillo & Mike Vella, the Biomedical Department at Gozo General Hospital, the Biomedical Department at Mater Dei Hospital and the various teams from TrioMed’s different suppliers.

Over the recent weeks, two scientific publications confirmed what we had previously deemed highly probable: #Photoncounting CT changes the management and treatment decisions of cardiac patients. Moritz Halfmann et al of University Medical Center Mainz showed that using the high spatial resolution of Quantum HD Cardiac on NAEOTOM Alpha led to reclassification of 54% of patients to a lower CAD-RADS category. https://lnkd.in/dWdHrQqz Judit Simon MD PhD et al of Semmelweis University reported that using the aforementioned Quantum HD Cardiac scan mode - compared to conventional whole heart coverage detector CT - reduced the referral rate in CAD patients to the cathlab by 50%. https://lnkd.in/dijxd3xc I talked to radiologists of both hospitals and was happy to hear that not only has this change in patient management been adopted in daily practice but also that the interventional cardiology departments are highly supportive of this paradigm change. I am looking forward to the next logical step where the impact of this change in patient management on the overall healthcare costs (hospitals & insurers) shall be investigated. If you want to learn more about the "patient-management-changing-and-healthcare-cost-reducing" potential of NAEOTOM Alpha, find me at our booth at #ecr2024. Now deployed at the Clinical Research Center of Hôpital Fondation Adolphe de Rothschild in Paris, real-time Doppler holography of the retina is set to become a new standard for non-invasive monitoring of quantitative retinal and choroidal hemodynamic biomarkers. 👁 ❤️ The ‘Holodoppler’ programme (public funding #France2030) is a consortium comprising Lumibird Medical - Quantel Medical, Ellex & Optotek,Hôpital Fondation Adolphe de Rothschild, Hôpital national des Quinze-Vingts , and ESPCI Paris - PSL. 🎯 The aim is to develop a non-invasive medical device capable of quantitatively measuring ocular blood flow. This optical doppler using digital holography will make it possible to quantify ocular haemodynamics and improve diagnosis and monitoring of #glaucoma and #hypertension.

THIS IS BIG! Further evidence that #photoncounting CT changes clinical pathways in coronary artery disease. 49% of patients in the study were classified to a lower CAD-RADS score (and likely a more conservative treatment option) when scanned with NAEOTOM Alpha compared to conventional CT. We are getting ready to make this pathway change available to more caregivers and their patients around the world. Milan Vecsey-Nagy U. ‼️ PAPER ALERT ‼️ The next #MUSCcvi landmark #NAEOTOM Alpha #photoncounting CT paper in Circulation: Cardiovascular Imaging! This prospective intra-individual study by Milan Vecsey-Nagy confirms the prior simulation results in a real world scenario when patients have been scanned on both energy-integrating and #photoncounting detector CT systems. By simply being scanned on a #photoncounting CT system with ultrahigh spatial resolution results in lower percent diameter stenosis values and more accurate stenosis measurements, and leads to a substantial CAD-RADS reclassification rate in 49% of patients. https://lnkd.in/eedRwMiM Giuseppe Tremamunno U. The Clinical Services In IR Task Force developed a three-stage system for clinical services infrastructure development. This system shall help create awareness of the fact that different levels of service provision can be offered and worked towards. IRs may also use this system to benchmark themselves and set personal goals for future developments in their centre and practice. The three levels of clinical services infrastructure are split into #inpatient and #outpatient. What is your current level? Where do you see yourself in three years from now? What helps you or holds you back? Leave a comment to share your experience! Learn more about the three-stage system here: https://t.ly/8EvkP Task force members: Prof. Dr. Andreas H.
