The alpine tundra in Europe’s high mountains is a vital freshwater reservoir and habitat for unique species. 🌍 However, with 3°C warming, this ecosystem could shrink by 84%. Though limiting warming to 1.5°C could reduce the loss to 48%, adaptation remains challenging due to the region’s unique topographic, soil and climatic characteristics. via European Commission
