Hatred and unpopularity at the moment have fallen to the lot of all who have aspired to rule others; but where odium must be incurred, true wisdom incurs it for the highest objects. - Pericles (History of the Peloponnesian War, book 2, Late 430s BC to 411 BC) The quote highlights that leaders often face criticism and unpopularity, especially when making tough decisions. However, true wisdom involves accepting this backlash for the sake of higher goals. Modern leaders must prioritise long-term vision and ethical objectives, even if it means enduring temporary disapproval, to achieve meaningful and impactful outcomes. Those who wait to lead those who are likely to be waiting until the end of time. For they are waiting on you and I. They will only form up their ranks when they are led by example. Hence servant leadership is that which does so regardless of those who follow or not and without regard to what it may cost them. For this inspires and encourages others to do what they ought. Never has the majority ever suddenly self generated the courage to stand against that which requires something of them without leadership. Even then the majority of people are never going to sacrifice their comforts nor throw off their fears and confusion to take action even when they have good and proper servant leaders. They have to compelled to do so by those who do and will. Think about it.your enemies surely have and are using this against you. If the authentic and true will not lead those who are not will surely lead all to their doom and destruction. Never fancy oneself a leader. Seek to be a good and faithful servant of others regardless of their position or your own and leadership will develop. A servant leader is self sacrificing. A true leader is not perfect. Quite the contrary. They realize how imperfect they are and how gods grace gives them the wisdom and understanding to lead despite them. This keeps them humble and teachable in all things. As for people so too for the nation and nations. Unleash Your Inner Leader: The Magic of Stillness in the Hustle Leadership isn't just about making decisions or directing actions; it's a delicate dance between movement and stillness, dynamism and quiet contemplation. This secret lies hidden in the timeless wisdom of the Upanishads, unveiled by a cryptic phrase: तदेजति तन्नेजति (yājñīyamantrōpaniṣat / iśōpaniśat 5) tadējati tannējati That moves, and that moves not Think of it like this: That moves: the go-getter in you, taking action, making things happen. ⚡ That moves not: the wise sage within, reflecting, finding inner clarity. ♀️ In the hustle and bustle of daily tasks, it's easy to get caught up in the frenzy of movement. But true leaders understand the value of pausing, of taking a step back to contemplate, to breathe, and to listen to the whispers of intuition. Effective leaders, like skilled dancers, weave both seamlessly. ✨ They know when to hustle and when to pause, fueling action with wisdom and vision with groundedness. This holistic approach lets us see the big picture while staying present in the daily grind, leading with an authenticity fueled by both reflection and experience. This creates a ripple effect of positive change, as our balanced approach inspires others to find their own rhythm, ultimately leading to a wave of transformation. It's not just about taking charge, it's about leading with wisdom and heart. #Leadership #SanskritQuote #VedicWisdom #PearlsOfWisdom #BalancedLeadership
Vijay Chintamani on Instagram: "Dive into the depths of philosophical inquiry with the Sanskrit phrase "तदेजति तन्नेजति" (tadējati tannējati) - That moves, and that moves not. This enigmatic expression hints at the dual nature of reality, resonating deeply with the dynamics of leadership. While "That moves" speaks to the action-oriented aspect of leading, "That moves not" emphasizes the importance

Growing up in a conservative religious environment, I learned to second-guess my instincts. The message was clear: don't trust yourself, your body, your feelings - they'll lead you astray. Then along came an unlikely wisdom teacher: Ted Lasso. Through his disarming humor and authenticity, he offered this gem that is so simple and yet profound: "Just listen to your gut, and on the way down to your gut, check in with your heart. Between those two things, they'll let you know what's what." This resonated deeply. As a leader today, I've learned that true wisdom often lies in balancing rational thought with both emotional intelligence (heart) and instinct (gut). It's not about dismissing one in favor of the other - it's about integration. The best insights often come wrapped in humility and humor. Sometimes it takes a mustachioed football coach to remind us of what we knew all along: trust yourself. #donttakeyourselftooseriously #PersonalGrowth #Leadership #Wisdom #EmotionalIntelligence #AuthenticLeadership

Exaggeration? Then listen to these sage words from William James, one of the most distinguished psychologists and philosophers America has ever produced. Compared with what we ought to be, we are only half awake We are making use of only a small part of our physical and mental resources. Stating the thing broadly, the human individual thus lives far within his limits. He possesses powers of various sorts which he habitually fails to use. Yes, you who are reading these lines possess powers of various sorts which you habitually fail to use and one of these powers you are probably not using to the fullest extent is your magic ability to praise people and inspire them with a realization of their latent possibilities. Abilities wither under criticism; they blossom under encouragement. To become a more effective leader of people apply... Praise the slightest improvement and praise every improvement. Be "hearty in your approbation and lavish in your praise." 📖- How to Win and Influence People by- #dalecarnegie #leadershipdevelopment #leadership #selfdevelopment #bookblogger #meaningfullife

"The authority by which the Christian leader leads is not power but love, not force but example, not coercion but reasoned persuasion. Leaders have power, but power is safe only in the hands of those who humble themselves to serve." - John Stott What a powerful thought to take into work with us as the new month is about to begin! Here are some practical ways to live this out as a Christian leader: 1. Love: Ask a coworker about their family and friends. 2. Example: Take a task off someone's plate, can be as easy as taking out the office trash! 3. Reasoned Persuasion: Bring evidence and research to make your case.

This #quote by thirteenth-century Sufi mystic #Rumi is needed now more than ever before. We appear to have become divided and tribalized in our current culture. It seems that angry and hateful words and acts have become normalized. But civility and kindness can win out if we remember our #goal. Remember, we are here to live in harmony with each other. We must move our thinking and words from hate to love; loud hateful rhetoric does not bring any solution or promote healing, just as thunder does not grow flowers. To get crucial #conversations right, we do not only have to be honest in our opinions, but we also need to have the right "heartitude." If our heart isn't right, our behavior and motives degenerate, and we may use words that we repent later. So it boils down to 1. Honesty 2. Mutual respect 3. politeness 4. Good manners 5. Exploring Nietzsche’s Philosophy: Master and Slave Morality Friedrich Nietzsche’s Thus Spoke Zarathustra presents a powerful contrast between two types of morality: Master Morality and Slave Morality. • Master Morality is driven by self-determination, strength, and the desire to define one’s own values. It is the morality of leaders who create meaning from within, embracing individuality and power. • Slave Morality, on the other hand, arises from the perspective of the oppressed. It emphasizes humility, empathy, and adherence to externally imposed values, often as a response to power and control. Nietzsche’s critique of herd morality—a mindset that avoids individual responsibility in favor of societal norms—reminds us of the importance of self-reflection in both our personal and professional lives. As we strive for growth, how do we balance the two? Are we defining our own path or merely following the herd? #Philosophy #Nietzsche #Leadership #PersonalGrowth #Morality #Mastery

“Birds of a feather will flock together.” -An ancient Proverb What does that really mean though? It’s symbolism for those with similar interests, ideas, and thoughts will congregate together. Like attracts like. As a leader, pay attention to the clues around you when dealing with people. I’ve learned throughout the years that often people will tell me one thing but their actions speak a different language. Fake attracts other individuals who are fake. Compassionate individuals attract others who are compassionate. And the list goes on… “Do not be deceived: "Bad company ruins good morals." -The Holy Bible, Corinthians My advice today: Pay attention to the company you keep. It defines who you are, whether you like it or not. Your character is impacted by those you associate with. It’s your choice who your friends are so choose wisely. They will impact your future and your purpose. “Connect with people who are soaring. You need to disconnect from people who are limiting your potential, and connect with people who can help you reach levels you have never seen. Stay connected to people who are going places, who are on another level, and who make you strive to be better.” -Germany Kent “Be careful of keeping company with people who are always bragging on your accomplishments in public but rarely if ever compliment you or support your endeavors in private.” -Germany Kent #beintentional #leadwell #leadershipmatters #leadershipdevelopment #leadership #leader #lead #courage #grace #influence
