🧐 When it comes to writing your health condition copy, you might be missing one of your biggest sources of content. How often do you ask patients and families after they received care what they wish they had known? Especially when it comes to serious conditions, at some point we all have to dig deep to become armchair experts for ourselves or our loved ones. Does your copy answer... ✍️ What it's really like to get a procedure or refuse treatment? ✍️ What to expect during recovery ✍️ What are typical and rare side effects of a therapy? Your copy doesn't just exist so people can find and choose your health system. Done well, it can be a part of patients' care journey. So many hospitals have patient and family advisory councils (PFAC). Consider asking them about your copy. You'll no doubt learn something. H/t to Sara McKinniss for inspiring this post.

This is a great question for healthcare communicators to ask. I always ask patients at the end of the interview about lessons learned along their journey with XYZ condition of provider and these answers are always content gold.
