Green Wilhelmshaven Terminal project facilitates the importation of renewable ammonia via maritime transport and enables the extensive conversion and integration of hydrogen into the European hydrogen network. RWE have commissioned their pilot electrolyser plant in Lingen! This gas-fired power plant has a capacity of 14 megawatts (MW). It can generate up to 270 kilogrammes of green hydrogen per hour using electricity from renewable sources. The pilot electrolyser consists of two sub-systems - an alkaline electrolyser from Sunfire with a capacity of 10 MW and a 4 MW plant, designed and built by Linde using a PEM electrolyser from ITM Power. How will the integration of the pilot electrolyser with the existing gas-fired power plant impact the overall efficiency and carbon emissions of the facility, especially during the initial test phase? AHC member Australian Gas Infrastructure Group (AGIG) has commenced construction of its 10MW Hydrogen Park Murray Valley facility in Victoria.   The $65.4 million project will produce 500 tonnes of hydrogen annually for injection into the local gas network and potential future use at transport refuelling stations.   It is supported by the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA), Victorian Government and Clean Energy Finance Corporation through the Advancing Hydrogen Fund.    Minister for Climate Change and Energy Chris Bowen said: “The Hydrogen Park Murray Valley project represents a milestone investment in Australia’s clean energy future.   “Producing renewable hydrogen on this scale has never been done in Australia before, so this project is blazing a trail to scale up green hydrogen production, and that’s why we’re backing it.”   Great to see AGIG continue to build its capability and skills required for the emerging hydrogen industry.    Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gkw6n6kb.   #H2Au

HyNOS (Hydrogen Networks for the Northern Seas) is a working group of European gas transmission system operators (TSOs) from around the Northern Seas that includes Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, United Kingdom and Ireland. Today, this group met in Berlin to exchange views on how to stimulate offshore wind through the integrated production of electricity and hydrogen on the Northern Seas.   Green Hydrogen production can help to maximise the potential of offshore wind, increase the use of offshore infrastructure, and ultimately reduce costs. At Gas Networks Ireland, we look forward to continuing our collaboration as we work towards a sustainable energy future. GAZ-SYSTEM awarded EU funding for Pomeranian Green Hydrogen Cluster project   CINEA - European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency granted EU financial support to the #PomeranianGreenHydrogenCluster project under the ”CEF Cross-border Renewable Energy” instrument.   The Pomeranian Green Hydrogen Cluster project aims to analyse the possibilities of producing green hydrogen using #RES from planned wind and solar farms in Western Pomerania and #H2 transmission via hydrogen pipelines to end-users in Poland and Germany. 💡Big progression for the Danish clean-tech space💡 European Energy has launched Denmark's first green hydrogen plant, marking a significant milestone towards sustainable energy and a key advancement for the company, known for its expertise in wind and solar projects. After being completed in June, the facility is now operational, with the initial electrolyser successfully producing hydrogen. Recommendations to the European Union and its Member States on the transposition of the RED III industry target for RFNBO consumption (A recently published paper by Hydrogen Europe ) The Renewable Energy directive (REDIII) aims to promote #energy from #renewable sources by creating a favourable #regulatory and #investment framework that helps accelerate #emissions reduction and reduce reliance on #fossil fuels. It specifically mandates the use of renewable fuels of non-biological origin (RFNBO) in transport and industry. For industrial uses, it sets ambitious targets, requiring at least 42% RFNBO usage by 2030 and 60% by 2035. This paper presents a summary of the main #transposition options, and more importantly, it identifies and describes what the enabling conditions are to ensure a successful uptake of RFNBO in industry and to support the achievement of the renewable energy targets. In summary, the successful implementation of REDIII targets requires a #coordinated effort between Member States, industry #stakeholders, and regulatory bodies and dedicated attention to the enabling conditions that make the industry thrive, promoting #sustainability and #competitiveness within the European Union.
