Today, as we celebrate World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, we at Empanda are reminded of the incredible richness that cultural diversity adds to our lives and work. It enhances our creativity and brings us closer together, weaving a stronger, more connected community. At Empanda, we believe that true innovation and growth stem from a foundation of inclusion. By welcoming and celebrating every culture, we ensure that everyone’s voice is not just heard but also cherished. This commitment to diversity is at the heart of what we do and who we are. So, let’s start stepping out and reaching across cultural lines. Try something new, learn about a different culture through music, clothing or language. How do you celebrate cultural diversity in your everyday routines? Do you explore different cuisines, or perhaps the philosophies and traditions that resonate with you? Share your experiences with us. Each step toward understanding and valuing diversity is a step toward a more inclusive, vibrant world. #CulturalDiversityDay #LearnAndGrow #InclusiveSociety

🚨 How to be an Upstander, not a Bystander! 🚨 In our last GIDA meeting on Allyship, our DE&I thought leaders, Janet Ledger and Jeiz Robles of Community Business, Marni Panas, CCIP™ of Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion (CCDI), Maretha Smit of Diversity Works New Zealand and Lisa Annese of Diversity Council Australia Ltd shared valuable insights on the Six D's of being an Upstander: Distract: Interrupt the situation by changing the subject or drawing attention away Direct Communication: If safe, address the inappropriate behavior directly Demonstrate Support: Show solidarity through proximity and body language Direct to Resources: Provide resources for the harmer to learn and improve Delegate: Report the incident to someone in a position of power Dialogue: Talk to the harmer about their impact and why it's not okay Together, we can create safer and more inclusive environments for everyone. This World Cultural Diversity Day, I’m fondly remembering this very important meeting with the @Sandoz ASIA Cluster Leadership Team and our Region International Head @Francisco Ballester last February, a few weeks after our Team Kick-off in Manila, Philippines, to follow through with our action plan commitment. This photo encapsulates how truly diverse our amazing team is. Our cluster is, in fact, home to 10 countries, with over 500 languages spoken, 11 major religions, a population of around 1.8 billion, and 700 employees. Given these facts, I could not emphasize enough how important it is for us to foster an inclusive and diverse environment where every one of us feels welcomed and is encouraged to bring our unique selves to work. What I’ve observed amidst this diversity is that there are 3 universal truths across our team in building trust: First, respect and active listening for fruitful collaboration across teams and countries. Second, #CulturalCuriosity: willingness to be educated about others' cultures and traditions helps create an environment where people feel valued and sincerely considered. Third, doing what you say you would: Regardless of cultural differences, keeping our commitments shows utmost regard and strengthens trust. Our cultural background is a critical part of who we are, and to the patients we serve. Acknowledging, learning, respecting, and celebrating these differences are essential to fulfilling our purpose in @Sandoz—that is Pioneering Access for Patients. That is why as a leader, this is a commitment I keep—to uphold a welcoming, respectful, and discrimination-free work environment at all times. #SandozDEI #SandozLife

🌍✨ I'm so excited about the Multi-Culti ERG recognition! This marks the first-ever official ERG at TÜV SÜD that champions cultural diversity where all nationalities are welcome. It's a huge milestone for us, highlighting our commitment to inclusiveness and global people growth. Thank you Behnoush Behdad-Lohmann, Johannes Bussmann and Markus Schwarzenböck for all your support. 🌏 The goal is fostering One Multi-Cultural TÜV SÜD! 🌐 As our world and business expand, we encounter new horizons that require us to navigate cultural nuances with colleagues and customers. Embracing and celebrating these differences is crucial. Trust me, it can be challenging but also incredibly fun! 😄 I remember one of my first experiences abroad. With my not-so-great French, I tried to tell a coworker that the summer was very hot. Unfortunately, I used the wrong words and ended up saying I was very hot! 😅 These little, funny mishaps teach us to give the speaker a second chance to understand how the situation happened. 😅 Understanding and respecting cultural nuances is key. For example, in Singapore, it's important to communicate requirements in writing first and then have a short call. In Korea, it can be considered rude to use only one hand when receiving something. And in Colombia, flexibility is key! 🌍✋📝 By valuing these differences, we enhance our ability to move further and faster together as One TÜV SÜD. 🚀💬 Let's continue to embrace our diverse backgrounds and drive forward with inclusiveness at the forefront Laura Díaz Herranz, Leonardo Florez, Sopna Begum, Erdem Köygülü. 🚀💬 #Diversity #Inclusion #GlobalGrowth #CulturalNuances #TÜVSÜD
