Employee Spotlight: David Ellis
1. How long have you been with Lindt & Sprüngli?
I’ve been with Lindt & Sprüngli for nearly 10 years. I spent 8 years in Stratham at Lindt USA and then moved to our sister company, Russell Stover in Corsicana, Texas for two years.
2. What was your first role at Lindt and what is it now? Tell me about your career stops along the way.
I started as a third shift Production Supervisor in Pack and then moved to Mould Manager, where I spent almost five years. After that, I transitioned to Maintenance and became the Plant Manager at Russell Stover. Now, I’m excited to be back at Lindt USA as the Senior Manager of the Pack Rooms, bringing my career full circle but at a different level.
3. What is the best advice you can give to someone who just started their career at Lindt?
Don't be afraid to grow personally because your personal growth promotes your professional growth. Utilize the resources Lindt USA provides, for example, I leveraged our Educational Assistance program to earn my master’s degree and my doctorate degree. My next goal is to learn Spanish to communicate more effectively with my non-bilingual colleagues.
4. How did the Lindt Mentorship Program positively impact your professional development and career growth? I have a passion for mentoring, and throughout my career, I have had the privilege of mentoring individuals both informally and formally through Lindt’s Mentorship Program. This program has allowed me to build relationships across the business and promote cross-functional growth.
5. What are you most proud of in your career so far?
It’s incredibly fulfilling to see the individuals I’ve mentored or worked with move into bigger opportunities within Lindt or at our sister companies, Ghirardelli and Russell Stover. Over the years, many colleagues have advanced to higher roles or positions that offer a better quality of life. In operations, the shifts and hours can be challenging, often differing from the typical 9-5 schedule, making these advancements even more rewarding.

6. What is something unique or interesting about you that no one knows?
I’ve played the drums for 22 years and have a passion for death metal music. Although I’m not in a band anymore, I still enjoy playing and listening to metal. Additionally, I’m skilled at day trading.
7. What do you love most about #LifeAtLindt?
There is always opportunity here, both for individuals and for the company. Despite challenges, everyone remains positive and focused on solving problems and creating effective solutions.
8. And we have to ask… what is your favorite Lindt product?
The peanut butter Lindor is my all-time favorite, even though it’s discontinued. Currently, I love the Lindor peppermint cookie.
