Standard counseling can be beneficial, but often it does not alter the habitual psychological process that creates your anxiety and depression.
The same can be said for medications - the medication may relieve symptoms for a while, but medications are not effective for transforming the underlying process that produces the emotional pain.
The school of psychotherapy that I offer is called Mindfulness Therapy, which is quite successful for handling anxiety and for treating chronic depression or other emotional problems resulting from conditioned reactive thinking. Most people notice real improvements after 3-4 sessions of Mindfulness Therapy.

Mindfulness therapy is immensely effective, especially for anxiety and for depression, as well, where the principle cause of the emotion is reactive thinking. It's habitual reactive thinking or rumination that simply feeds the anxiety or depression in the same way that throwing wood on a fire feeds the fire and prevents the fire from burning itself out. So reactive thinking is one of the principal things we must change if we want to get over anxiety or depression we do this by building a relationship with our emotions.
We learn to meditate on our anxiety or depression or any other emotion for that matter. We build a relationship in which we cultivate consciousness, conscious awareness, so that we stay conscious and are able to prevent the mind from becoming overwhelmed by the reactive thinking.
We can see thoughts without becoming lost in those thoughts. This requires training that will not happen automatically but it will happen if we make the choice to train ourselves to remain independent in relationship to our thoughts. So this is a very important part of mindfulness therapy that I offer during these Skype counseling therapy sessions. We learn how to sit with our emotions.
This prevents them growing, essentially, it prevents the emotions feeding in the same way that that fire fed when we put more fuel onto it. If we stop feeding our anxiety or depression with reactive thinking then those emotions will begin to subside and burn themselves out. And in then this way we are actually creating a new pathway in the brain through which those emotions gradually lose strength and resolve themselves. So reactivity simply strengthens the emotions, but non-reactivity activity weakens the emotions and allows them to dissipate and diffuse.

Skype Counseling Therapy Sessions for Anxiety & Depression
Welcome! My name is Peter Strong. I am a professional psychotherapist based in Colorado and I offer online Skype counseling therapy for anxiety and depression and other emotional problems that benefit from Mindfulness Therapy.
I specialize in Mindfulness Therapy. This is a system of psychotherapy that I developed many years ago now and find to be very effective for working with anxiety and depression.
So online therapy is an excellent option and especially if you use Skype because then you can see each other and being able to see each other makes communication better and allows you to learn the nuances and details that you might miss if you tried to do online therapy via e-mail or some form of online chat format. You really need to see each other, and that's what Skype makes possible. It is a wonderful service that allows you to connect with another person anywhere in the world.
I work with many clients abroad in the UK and Europe and as far away as Korea and Japan, even Australia. All you need is a good Internet connection and then you can have a Skype therapy session at a time that works for you.
So Skype counseling describes the process of really learning different ways of working with your emotions, of seeing things differently, or getting advice and help in putting things in perspective. It's basically the same as traditional talk therapy. It has usefulness. Always to be able to talk to someone else who has experience working with anxiety and depression. It's useful, but what I really recommend is some form of psychotherapy.
So Skype therapy really is designed to help you heal those underlying emotions that are causing your anxiety or depression. It teaches you practical methods of healing so that your recovery process is faster than it would be just talking about your emotional problems.
So really, the combination of Skype counseling and Skype therapy is really optimal.
So if you would like to learn more, please contact me and let's schedule a Skype therapy session. Most people really enjoy online therapy. It's much more comfortable for you and Mindfulness Therapy works extremely well online. And most people see tremendous benefits within the first few sessions. The reason why Mindfulness Therapy works so well is because it focuses very directly on your emotions and the thought patterns that feed those emotions and it allows you to re-establish balance and re-establish this internal compassionate relationship that promotes healing.
So if you'd like to learn more, please contact me and let's schedule some Skype therapy sessions so you can see for yourself. All my sessions are basically satisfaction-based. That means that if you do not find the sessions useful, there is no fee, no charge. You only pay if you find that each session is achieving a useful result for you and that you are seeing benefits. I feel that's very important and I would strongly recommend that you never work with any therapist unless it's based on a results or satisfaction basis.
You should see results within a few sessions and that's really the main focus here. My job is to help you heal and not just to establish an endless relationship that doesn't really change anything, which I see too much in the field of psychotherapy and counseling.
At any rate, if you would like to schedule a session with me, then please go to my website and contact me through the contact page and then we can set up a session at a time that works for you.
