Microsoft PowerPoint Best Practices, Tips and Techniques: Learn how to Plan, Create and Deliver

Today is Book Launch Day!

After 8 months of hard work and great support from my editing team at #Packt Publishing, the big day has finally arrived: Microsoft PowerPoint Best Practices, Tips, and Techniques is finally officially available!

I have done a lot of presentation-related work in the past 25 years: training content, basic templates, grant pitches, speaker & TEDx coaching, courses, virtual classes, and so many other things that were created in PowerPoint but not even used as "presentations".

Through the years I have heard so many reasons why users struggled with their presentations that I have a list of top-3 challenges encountered by users:

  1. Not knowing how to start.
  2. Lack of training, making them work so much harder.
  3. Being pressed for time. I would add that this is usually because of #1 and #2!

So, writing a book became a way to share my findings of the past 25 years while addressing those 3 important challenges.

Through the 13 chapters, I made sure readers would learn the steps to help them plan, create and deliver more impactful and professional-looking presentations with the help of PowerPoint. Curious to know more about specific topics? Have a look at the book page: https://packt.link/iDXT4

If you want to share your personal presentation challenges, I would be happy to read your comments below.

Acknowledgments

This book has been made possible because of great people surrounding me! Here is a short list of the ones that have helped me with the content of my book, whether by their published work or their feedback.

Rosal Colaco and Deeksha Thakkar , you helped me stay on target even when life or writer's block got in the way. And my fabulous technical reviewer Glenna Shaw, PowerPoint MVP , who I knew would have the perfect critical eye to avoid missing out on critical information. And Rayyan Khan , thank you for the marketing help and guidance.

Dave Paradi , all the knowledge you shared through the years is acknowledged in the book so readers can access another great reference source.

Nancy Duarte , I could not publish anything without mentioning how your #Resonate book impacted how I work with clients and how it can help everyone that want to improve their storytelling.

Julie Terberg and Echo Swinford, PowerPoint MVP , your design and template wizardry inspired me through the years and helped me create a basic process for end users that do not work in big corporations. Readers now have a place where they have access to the various awesome resources you have.

Presentation Guild , it was a no-brainer to send readers to our professional association where they can meet other like-minded presentation professionals, access great resources and even get certified when we re-launch the certification process.

Nolan Haims, Presentation and Data Storytelling Trainer , I just had to include your awesome tool: The Better Deck Deck. It can help readers think about their content in a more creative way than using boring bullets.

Jamie Garroch , Richard Goring , the BrightCarbon team, Mike Power , Andy Dargon , the Neuxpower team, Mike Parkinson at Billion Dollar Graphics , and Steve Rindsberg at PPTools.com, you have robust and reliable add-ins that so many users should have in their toolbox! Thank you for your help and feedback.

And finally, Shawn Villaron , Mike McCoy , and Kim Denny , thank you for sharing so much great technical information and support to #PowerPoint MVPs through the years. I have shared many great support articles written by the whole team that are indispensable references for users. Please thank the whole team for me!
