🧠 Aphasia affects as many people as Parkinson's disease, leaving stroke survivors unable to speak or write - but new research offers hope for reconnection. With AHW Momentum Grant funding, researchers at the Medical College of Wisconsin are exploring an innovative solution using artificial intelligence to help people with aphasia communicate again. The team is working with patients who already have brain monitoring devices to collect data that will help train AI systems to understand and decode brain signals. This groundbreaking work could eventually help people with aphasia reconnect with their families, friends, and communities. With AHW Seed Grant Funding, researchers at Medical College of Wisconsin are exploring improvements to lung cancer treatment that isn't responding well to current immunotherapy. 🔬 The research team is studying specific proteins (EZH1/EZH2) that may help the immune system better recognize and fight small-cell lung cancer—one of the most aggressive types of lung cancer. 🧬 ⚡ Why it matters: This type of lung cancer affects more than 1 in 10 lung cancer patients, and survival rates are very low. Better treatments are urgently needed. Learn more about this project here: https://lnkd.in/g4gsVG9v #LungCancerAwarenessMonth #LungCancer #CancerResearch #AHWEndowment #WisconsinHealth
