A professional data services social enterprise enabling Geospatial & Digital Engineering careers for neurodiverse adults
About us
Australian Spatial Analytics (ASA) is one of Australia’s largest and fastest-growing work-integrated social enterprises. We create an inclusive workplace for neurodiverse young adults to undertake professional spatial data services. Since 2020, ASA has provided careers in the Geospatial and Engineering professions for over 150 young neurodiverse adults who may otherwise be unemployed. Our team use their unique cognitive talents, such as attention to detail, pattern recognition and memory retention, to deliver image analysis, data cleansing and processing for multiple industries, including telecommunications, energy, conservation, travel and resources. ASA helps solve Australia’s skills shortages and data sovereignty concerns by accessing an untapped pool of talented and motivated people who perform essential work that otherwise occurs offshore. We consistently deliver professional, award-winning, high-quality data services for real-world projects, specialising in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Survey, Computer Aided Design (CAD), Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Machine Learning technologies. To date, ASA has provided over $7 million worth of projects. We do this while creating enduring social impact for young neurodiverse people who face a 34% unemployment rate by providing stable and meaningful employment—reducing their dependence on government funding. Our team is 80% neurodiverse. We are committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels valued so they can reach their full potential. We take a human-centred approach, understanding and leveraging each individual’s strengths, interests and needs. Our goal is to upskill our people and provide careers within ASA and externally, including transitioning them to our partner clients, enabling their teams to harness neurodiverse strengths through support and training. At ASA, we use data to employ diversity. Neuro(diversity) is our competitive advantage.

Welcome to 2025 everyone! We’re back in the swing of things and launching into a new year where we’re aiming to create even more #SocialImpact by bringing more young #Neurodivergent adults out of long-term unemployment. But let’s dwell on our achievements in 2024. We paid more than $7.5 million in full-award wages to our #Data analysts and dramatically increased the recognition of what we do in both technical excellence and creating social impact. We had the biggest year ever in terms of transitioning the employment of our analysts to other organisations. And we can’t wait to see what the year will bring! #SocialEnterprsie #GIS #GeographicInformationSystems #DigitalEngineering #NeurodiversityInTheWorkplace

Australian Spatial Analytics reposted this
As 2024 comes to a close, we’re thrilled to celebrate the recent achievements of our #WestpacScholar and #WestpacFoundation community! 👏 Geoffrey Smith, a 2022 Westpac Social Change Fellow, co-founder and CEO of Australian Spatial Analytics (ASA) has been named the 2025 QLD Australian of the Year. ASA, a recipient of the Westpac Foundation Social Enterprise Grant, is a social enterprise employing over 150 neurodivergent young adults to deliver geospatial and engineering services. With an inclusive workplace where 80% of employees are neurodivergent and 61% come from long-term unemployment, Geoffrey and his team are redefining the future of work. 👏 Luke Terry, a 2017 Westpac Social Change Fellow and CEO of White Box Enterprises has been awarded QLD Impact Leader at the 2024 Queensland Council of Social Service (QCOSS) Awards. Over the past five years, White Box Enterprises, a Westpac Foundation grant partner, has created more than 900 jobs for individuals facing disadvantage and unemployment, demonstrating the power of social enterprise to transform lives. 👏 Rebecca Scott, OAM, co-founder of STREAT, has been named Melburnian of the Year. Westpac Foundation has been proud to support STREAT, a social enterprise that tackles youth disadvantage and homelessness by offering career pathways in hospitality. We’re incredibly proud to be part of their journeys and excited to see all the positive impact they continue to make in 2025 and beyond! #WestpacScholars #WestpacFoundation #SocialImpact #Leadership #Impact #Community #Empowerment #SocialChange #QldAustralianOfTheYear #MelbournianOfTheYear David Crisafulli MP

Just letting everyone know that our offices will be closed from 5pm this Friday 20 December and will reopen on Monday 6 January 2025. Wishing you all a fantastic break, and we’ll see you next year! With 2025 fast approaching, it’s important we reflect not only on what we have achieved as a #SocialEnterprise this year but also on the continuous growth and development of our young #Neurodivergent #Data analysts. Watching our people grow as they learn and evolve in their careers has been a rewarding experience that signifies the impact of our commitment to workforce participation for disadvantaged Australians. Let's take a moment to reflect on some of the outstanding achievements we have accomplished together this year. We’ve had many analysts transition their employment to inclusive organisations such as ACCIONA AU & NZ and NGIS. We’ve been recognised both in Australia and internationally for our work, raising invaluable awareness of #NeurodiversityInTheWorkplace. This includes a well-deserved gong for our CEO, Geoffrey Smith, who was awarded the 2025 Queensland Australian of the Year by the Australian of the Year Awards. We want to thank our supporters and clients for their unwavering support. Their commitment to our shared objectives has been pivotal in propelling us forward, and we express our heartfelt thanks for their invaluable contributions. Thank you all for being a part of this incredible journey, which only started in 2020. Here's to celebrating the triumphs of the past and embracing the promising future. Check out The BUSY Group #SocialImpact report! They have been our valuable partner in helping us bring young #Neurodivergent adults out of long-term unemployment. Have a look at page 23 for a story about us! #Neurodiversity #NeurodiversityInTheWorkplace
Our Inaugural Impact Report! At The BUSY Group, our purpose is clear: "To make education, skills, and employment accessible to every person, so they can create their own world of unbounded possibilities." But we know our legacy isn’t just about what we aim to do; it's about the impact we create. This year’s Impact Report has been a true labour of love. It’s the result of an epic journey, one filled with dedication, collaboration, and an unrelenting passion to make a difference. It took a team of incredible individuals, each bringing their unique skills, care, and attention to bear. Creating this report wasn’t just a task; it was a commitment to measuring and understanding the difference we make while holding ourselves accountable to the communities we serve. Our partnership with Griffith University has been pivotal, providing the expertise we needed to dig deeper, analyse better, and tell the story of our impact effectively, transparently, and with precision. But this report is only the beginning. We’re determined to do more: to help more people, reach more communities, and innovate to meet the ever-changing needs of the world around us, both near and far. Together, we’ll continue to create a brighter, more inclusive future. Thank you to everyone who poured their heart into this work, from the staff on the front lines to the number crunchers in the back, and everyone in between. Let’s keep building a world of #UnboundedPossibilities in 2025! The best way to learn is to do it! Last financial year, we invested over $1 million in on-the-job training to upskill our young #Neurodivergent #Data analysts in both #GeographicInformationSystems and #DigitalEngineering. This has been instrumental in setting them up for careers after ASA and provides an alternative to existing education pathways. Big news! Our Marketing and Communications Manager, Anthony Bianco, will be speaking at the Content Summit Australia 2025, run by the friendly people at The Content Division. He’ll be on a panel discussing the skills modern marketers will need for the next decade, adding a #Neurodiversity perspective. 20% of the population— that’s over five million Australians—are #Neurodivergent (e.g., #Autism, #ADHD, #Dyslexia, #Dyscalculia), so neuroinclusive #Communication is essential when we want our message to reach this large cohort. When you consider that some studies and surveys have reported that up to 40% of marketers are neurodivergent, it’s a very timely topic! See you there! If you’re passionate about content, brand, and creative strategy, this is the place to be!
