About us

Better Health Network (or BHN) is a not-for-profit community healthcare organisation providing a wide range of integrated health, wellbeing and support services to communities across the inner-south and south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Experience and compassion are at the core of our holistic approach through our vision “your health, your choice, your way.” We celebrate our history, community and diversity, while working to be at the forefront of best-practice support delivery. We exist to deliver accessible health and wellbeing services that meet the needs of our diverse communities and use our influence to create positive change. With a workforce of more than 1,000 employees and volunteers, we provide a wide range of services to support healthy living, general wellbeing and social connection to more than 600,000 people through 20+ sites. These include specialist medical services, dental and allied health, nursing, gamblers’ help and counselling services, as well as aged care social supports and NDIS disability services. We are proud to offer an inclusive service and work environment where individuals feel safe, accepted, affirmed, and celebrated. We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we work and are committed to working in partnership with local indigenous communities and addressing health inequity for First Nations people. Better Health Network (BHN) was formed by the voluntary amalgamation of Central Bayside Community Health Services (CBCHS), Connect Health & Community and Star Health in 2022. • Today we proudly celebrate International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD). This day stands to promote awareness, understanding and acceptance in our community of how we can strive for inclusivity through the removal of physical, technological and attitudinal barriers for people with disability. To celebrate this year’s theme, ‘amplifying the leadership of persons with disability for an inclusive and sustainable future', participants from our Adult Community Options (ACO) Disability Day Program created a video to showcase each other and their experiences at BHN. Hit play to watch their interviews of fellow participants, highlighting what they enjoy most about taking part in our program. BHN provides a range of services to support people living with a disability in our community. • Thank you Digital Nation for featuring BHN’s story of digitising our integration journey following tri-party merger. As we complete our business integration, we are pivoting and preparing for the next phase of how we transform BHN to actualise the purpose of our merger. Going digital with monday.com enabled us the opportunity to collaborate and have full visibility and transparency across all integration work, underpinning the foundations of building teamwork and trust across 3 legacy teams. We have planted the seeds of a digital mindset at BHN and look forward to strengthening this as we step forward. We recently partnered with Better Health Network (BHN) to help reimagine how they deliver care and services to their community. Following the merger of three organisations, BHN aimed to create a more seamless and accessible experience for their clients. By working together, we co-created a customer experience strategy that puts people first — embedding a client-focused philosophy at every step of the journey. This approach equips BHN with the tools to deliver consistent, integrated care that meets the real needs of their clients, employees, and volunteers. • BHN is an proud member of Community Health First which yesterday launched its 2025 Victorian Budget Submission. The submission recommends evidence-based programs that improve health access and outcomes for Victorians, and would avoid an average $3 in future healthcare costs for every $1 invested. It includes support for Victorians on public surgery waiting lists, accessible healthcare in regional and rural communities, and preventative services to effectively manage chronic disease outside of hospital. These programs can deliver a stronger, more sustainable and equitable healthcare system for all Victorians. Read the submission at https://lnkd.in/gE99Wjnj and get behind the drive to put our community’s health first. #CommunityHealthFirst #BetterHealthForAll #BetterHealthFirst

  • A small but mighty group of BHN staff attended Respect Victoria’s Walk Against Family Violence on Friday in the CBD. It was inspiring to be gathered with so many others similarly passionate about creating Victorian communities where everyone is safe, equal and respected. We walked with partner organisations as part of the PRET (Promoting Respect and Equity Together) partnership. Better Health Network is committed to gender equality and respect and to the prevention of violence against women. We believe that people of all genders deserve equal rights, voice, opportunities, dignity, fairness, equity and to feel safe, valued and respected in their workplace and community. #16Days #16DaysOfActivism
