R U OK Day 🙂 12th of September 2024 Today marks an ongoing commitment to having open and honest conversations about our mental health, with the people we trust. This commitment goes beyond today, and into everyday practice, as we normalise conversations about mental health. Asking R U OK to a friend, colleague, family member or peer is an opportunity to learn more about how we can best support the people we care about. Asking R U OK costs nothing other than time - but could save someone's life. Ask, listen, encourage action and check-in. 💛

It's #WearItPurpleDay. This year's theme is inspired by Nicky Tsekouras, winner of Wear It Purple’s Youth Action Council (YAC) Design Competition. 'Your Passion, Your Pride' celebrates LGBTIQA+ young people and acknowledges their right to be proud of who they are and who they are becoming. As well as wearing purple, you can show your support for LGBTIQA+ people by asking R U OK? today or any day. Get involved https://lnkd.in/ghCnPbZu Wear it Purple

Discussions regarding the NDIS legislation approved by parliament on the 22nd of August 2024 have surfaced, and Kindminds has taken their time to read, watch and listen. We are listening to the disability community, NDIS participants and trusted service providers - we hear you. We want to start by acknowledging the uncertainty in these proposed changes, and the impact that has on our participants and wider disability community. With a complete lack of consultation and collaboration with the disabled community, this bill threatens the stability that participants have gained through NDIS services. Please know that Kindminds is proactively learning about these proposed changes so that we can answer your questions and hopefully reduce as much uncertainty as possible. We encourage participants to practice self care during this time, and remember you are part of an incredibly supportive community. Lean on your support networks where it is possible to do so. We are here for you. If you are feeling overwhelmed, please consider reaching out and speaking with someone.
