They don't build them like this anymore! The Bulla Bridge, constructed in 1869, is a four span bluestone arched bridge over Deep Creek at Bulla. It has withstood 155 years of flood waters passing through it and still looks strong and beautiful today. Team Taylors Surveyors Simon and Frank recently undertook creek cross section surveys for Melbourne Water in this picturesque setting. #Survey #Surveying #Infrastructure #Melbourne #SurveyLife

Last night Team Taylors attended the (ALDE) Association of Land Development Engineers Annual Christmas Dinner, represented by Enes, Ben, Kevin and Anthony. Held at the Plaza Ballroom, the Christmas Dinner was a great way for our team to embrace the festive spirit and connect with others in the industry. Thank you to ALDE for your support and advocacy across 2024 and for putting on yet another great event. #ALDE #Engineering #Engineers #UrbanDevelopment #LandDevelopment #Networking #Industry #CivilEngineering

Taylors Planning, Surveying and Design teams recently obtained a planning permit approval for a new pharmacy and medical centre along Koornang Road in Carnegie. The team is celebrating how quickly and efficiently we were able to achieve a planning permit through extensive upfront work prior to lodgement. We were able to avoid an RFI, had no objections and within two months of lodging the application, a planning permit and endorsed plans were issued by Council. In the planning world we call this a slam dunk! There was great work undertaken by our surveying team in navigating the challenging issues associated with legal access to the site as there was no legal road frontage. Furthermore, our architecture team worked through the specific requirements from the client and dealt with a range of car parking and flooding issues, noting we proposed a 90% car parking reduction onsite. The collaborative teamwork throughout the early stages of the application meant that once the application was received by Council, it flew through the assessment process. #UrbanPlanning #Planning #Survey #Surveying #Design #Architecture #UrbanDevelopment

From Leo Bateman, Taylors Land Surveying Executive Lead: "We congratulate our Matt Laidler on receiving his Registration Certificate at last Friday night’s 2024 Conferral Ceremony, which formally recognised Victoria’s 13 Newly Licensed Surveyors on their achievements - and on the significance and responsibility of their role in assisting Victoria’s ambitious and exciting 10-year plan for delivery of 800,000 New Homes together with continuance of the Big Build Projects. We were excited to see Matt receive special recognition for best overall results in his examination projects and being awarded the Albert Craven Award for 2024. We thank all those that supported Matt in his journey, including his Supervising Licensed Surveyor in Mark Grey. Taylors thanks the Surveyors Registration Board and Industry for their ongoing role in this process and we look forwarding to continuing to support our current crop of team members on their licensing journey to produce the best quality Licensed Surveyors we can." #Surveying #Surveyor #LicensedSurveyor #LandSurveying #UrbanDevelopment #ProfessionalDevelopment

As part of Terminal 1 upgrades at Melbourne Airport, our client required as much information on the ceiling spaces, including services, as possible. Our solution was to complete elevated scans through ceiling hatches and cutaways. One area was in an active asbestos zone which required entry via numerous airlocks. Working from heights was also a requirement to conduct scans up a scissor lift. Our HSE team were consulted about all the hazards. The job went smoothly during a night shift and we delivered a 3D point cloud our client was very happy with. #Infrastructure #Surveying #PointCloud #Airport #MelbourneAirport #Scanning

Safety is our number one priority when working on any site. For surveyors, work environments range from simple, flat areas to challenging sites with deep and complex assets. Surveyors Simon and Josh attended a working-at-heights safety training session with Pinnacle Safety and Training. This training helped them learn how to work safely at elevated heights and how to assess and manage this risk should it arise on a site. This is one of many essential training courses that Taylors provides for all field employees, along with confined space entry, first aid, and construction white card training, among others. Thank you to Pinnacle for an insightful training day and to our HSEQ team for keeping safety at the forefront of everything we do! #HealthandSafety #Survey #Surveying #Training #HSEQ

When Hallmark needed to inspect complex underground stormwater storage tank Taylors proposed an innovative solution: using high-resolution 3D scanning technology to remotely capture every detail of the tank’s interior. This approach not only enhanced safety by eliminating the need for a person to enter the confined space but also provided a comprehensive digital model for precise analysis. The scan proved both efficient and cost-effective, allowing Hallmark to assess the tank’s condition without disrupting other operations. Taylors’ solution showcased their commitment to safety and problem-solving, setting a new standard for inspections and reinforcing our role as a trusted, forward-thinking partner for Hallmark. Taylors' Urban Civil Engineering team oversaw the design and construction of the Pressure Reducing Valve (PRV) Assembly on Sunbury Road as part of Stages 2 & 3 of Everley, Sunbury. The PRV Assembly was successfully delivered for our Client, Sunbury Hills, on behalf of Greater Western Water, who have issued Acceptance of Works for the asset. The PRV Assembly was required to connect the water supply reticulation constructed as part of Everley Stages 2 & 3 to the existing DN375 transfer main on Sunbury Road. As the internal watermains of the subdivision and transfer main operate at differing pressures, the PRV Assembly ensures a stable water supply is provided for new residents of Everley Estate while maintaining uninterrupted flow and pressure for the transfer main. #Engineering #CivilEngineering #UrbanDevelopment #EstateDevelopment #Construction #Design

Lumina Estate in Wollert has reached another milestone, achieving Statement of Compliance on Stages 3 and 4 for our client, HEXA GROUP. This medium density development has a number of challenging aspects, including the installation of water meter assemblies between the internal and external watermains. Builders are currently on site in Stages 1 and 2 and the final Stages 5 and 6 are in the compliance phase. #Engineering #CivilEngineering #UrbanDevelopment #Residential #Infrastructure #Construction #LandDevelopment
