Sometimes the most impactful conversations happen when you least expect them. I recently had the privilege of sitting down with Gus Carfi, Executive Chairman at Polar Enviro, and I'm still buzzing from our discussion! After spending 30 years at Visy under the legendary Pratt family (talk about a masterclass in business leadership!), Gus has taken everything he learned about innovation, sustainability, and putting people first to revolutionise something we see every day but rarely think about - exit signs and road surfaces. What struck me most wasn't just his incredible journey from Visy COO to sustainability innovator, but his unwavering commitment to creating real environmental impact. When Gus told me about how their new exit sign technology creates only 5% of the environmental impact of traditional signs, I nearly fell off my chair! And don't even get me started on what they're doing with recycled glass in road surfaces... Trust me, after hearing about their photoluminescent technology (fancy way of saying 'glow-in-the-dark'), you'll never look at these everyday items the same way again. Disruptive? 100% he is! Thank you Darrin Ray, Dylan Broomfield and Leah Grinter for making it happen. Ps. Want to hear Gus's amazing story and learn how a chance conversation changed the trajectory of his entire career? I've added the link to the comments so you can listen to the full episode.

Thanks to an innovative climate startup 1receipt® paper receipts could be a thing of the past! What makes their tech so good is that there is no need to exchange private emails or numbers to receive your receipt! The costs of those little curly pieces of paper are astounding: 🌲 Each year in the U.S., up to 10 million trees are used to make the paper. 🌊 And 21 billion gallons of water are used. 🗑️ The annual waste from receipts in the U.S. is 686 million pounds of waste. 🚗 Skipping receipts would save 12 billion pounds of carbon dioxide (CO2), the equivalent of one million cars on the road. 1Receipt is just one example of the awesome climate solutions springing out of Melbourne's thriving climate network #climatetech #climatenetwork #melbourne #climatesolutions Pic of CEO and Founder Shahryar Faraji
