We democratise lobbying to make our political systems more equal!
About us
The Good Lobby helps nonprofits, activists, progressive businesses and philanthropies to gain a voice in the policy process. It has several initiatives, including the Climate Incubator, Pro Bono Europe, TGL Tracker and TGL Profs, which enhance the advocacy capacity of civil society while making corporate lobbying more transparent, ethical, and sustainable. We believe that the quality of public decision making improves when all parties can have their opinions heard. That's why we advocate for a more accessible, transparent, accountable and responsible lobbying environment.

🇪🇺 With just 51.4% of votes in favour, the European Parliament yesterday approved the Von der Leyen 2.0 Commission, recording the lowest parliamentary support for a Commission's election in history. The vote exposed significant divisions: 🔹 The EPP Spanish and Slovenian delegations voted against. 🔹Several S&D MEPs from France, Germany, and Belgium opposed. 🔹Nearly half of the Greens either voted against or abstained. 🔗 👉 Explore our Hub and subscribe to The Good Lobby’s Members Area for updates on our work: https://bit.ly/3Txanhc #TGLelectionsHUB #EuropeanCommission #VonderLeyen European Commission Ursula von der Leyen Maroš Šefčovič Glenn Micallef Christophe Hansen Apostolos Tzitzikostas Michael McGrath Dan Jørgensen Jessika Roswall Magnus Brunner Hadja Lahbib Jozef Sikela Wopke Hoekstra Marta Kos Raffaele Fitto Kaja Kallas Roxana Minzatu Stéphane Séjourné Henna Virkkunen The Greens/EFA in the European Parliament EPP Group in the European Parliament Socialists and Democrats Group in the European Parliament Renew Europe The Left in the European Parliament ECR Group in the European Parliament JEF Brussels Transparency International EU BEUC - The European Consumer Organisation euroconsumers Amnesty International NSW Legal Network Philea - Philanthropy Europe Association Slow Food Eurogroup for Animals

🔔 The right-leaning Von der Leyen 2.0 Commission has just been approved by the European Parliament in today's plenary vote. ✔️ 370 ❌ 282 🔘 36 🇪🇺 During the confirmation, the political groups split, resulting in a thin majority of 370 votes. With such a slim majority, the EU's governability will remain limited and dependent on the whims of national leaders. 🔗 👉 Explore our Hub and subscribe to The Good Lobby’s Members Area for updates on our work: https://bit.ly/3Txanhc #TGLelectionsHUB #EuropeanCommission #VonderLeyen European Commission Ursula von der Leyen Maroš Šefčovič Glenn Micallef Christophe Hansen Apostolos Tzitzikostas Michael McGrath Dan Jørgensen Jessika Roswall Magnus Brunner Hadja Lahbib Jozef Sikela Wopke Hoekstra Marta Kos Raffaele Fitto Kaja Kallas Roxana Minzatu Stéphane Séjourné Henna Virkkunen The Greens/EFA in the European Parliament EPP Group in the European Parliament Socialists and Democrats Group in the European Parliament Renew Europe The Left in the European Parliament ECR Group in the European Parliament JEF Brussels Transparency International EU BEUC - The European Consumer Organisation euroconsumers Amnesty International NSW Legal Network Philea - Philanthropy Europe Association Slow Food Eurogroup for Animals

💡A new report by the EIRIS Foundation shows how business lobbying succeeded in having the financial services companies not subject to requirements introduced by the EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD). 📑 Thanks to the "Social LobbyMap" methodology, the report analyses corporate lobbying on the basis of published information, Freedom of Information requests and media reports in the two years prior to the agreement that removed finance from the scope of the EU directive. 🔗 Read the blog post: https://lnkd.in/ef4hAg8u

🗓️ In one week, the EU Ombudsman candidates will present their priorities in a public hearing held by the Committee on Petitions. 👤 To be eligible to stand, a candidate must have the support of at least 39 members of the European Parliament from at least two Member States. 🗳️ The vote in plenary should take place between 16 and 19 December. 📊 The EU ombudsman needs the support of the European Parliament to be elected. Based on the support they have received for their candidacy, we can get an idea of the political endorsement of the candidates. However, at this stage, support for each candidate is concentrated in their home Member State. 👇 Discover the candidates below and which European political parties the MEPs supporting them come from. 🔗👉 Explore our Hub and subscribe to The Good Lobby’s Members Area for updates on our work: https://bit.ly/3Txanhc #TGLelectionsHUB #EUOmbudsman European Ombudsman European Parliament The Greens/EFA in the European Parliament EPP Group in the European Parliament Socialists and Democrats Group in the European Parliament Renew Europe ECR Group in the European Parliament Dr. Julia Laffranque Reinier Van Zutphen Teresa Anjinho Marino Fardelli Mahler Claudia Emilio De Capitani Democratic Society European Youth Forum JEF Brussels Transparency International EU BEUC - The European Consumer Organisation euroconsumers Amnesty International NSW Legal Network Philea - Philanthropy Europe Association Slow Food Eurogroup for Animals Amnesty International Amnesty International European Institutions Office ATD Fourth World BirdLife Europe and Central Asia Caritas Europa CEV-Centre for European Volunteering Civil Liberties Union for Europe Corporate Europe Observatory Defend Democracy Democracy International e.V. 🔴 UPDATE: In February 2024, the European Parliament banned 14 Amazon lobbyists from its premises, based on the company's refusal to respond to parliamentary enquiries and concerns about its labour practices. 🇪🇺 Today, Parliament’s Employment and Social Affairs (EMPL) Committee agreed a roadmap for dealing with the issue, marking an important step forward in this ongoing affair. 🔍 At The Good Lobby, we continue to monitor these procedures and to advocate transparent and democratic policy-making. 📰 Read the blog post: https://lnkd.in/dxDNBWJa The Left in the European Parliament
