TECHNATION Health is pleased to fully support the Canadian Academy of Nursing's position on nursing practice in digitally enabled care environments. Congratulations Gillian Strudwick, Peggy White, Lynn Nagle, and the Canadian Academy of Nursing Fellows team!
During this #DigitalHealthWeek I am happy to unveil our position statement on "Nursing practice in digitally enabled care environments ", which I co-led the development of with Peggy White RN, MN, FCAN and Lynn Nagle (also Fellows of the Canadian Academy of Nursing). The team of experts who contributed to this document represent those from 'coast to coast to coast' and the output is therefore representative of Canada as a diverse country in many ways. Excitingly, to our knowledge, Canada is the first NNA globally to have officially endorsed the ICN-International Council of Nurses statement. Thank you Professor Natasha Phillips for leading this. Now to the phase of operationalizing/actioning the recommendations. How will you contribute? A team effort is truly needed. Please see the statement here: https://lnkd.in/gdgZ-Abv "We call for a strategic and comprehensive approach by the nursing profession, in collaboration with other partner groups, to ensure that the profession remains at the forefront of health system transformation and innovation in all areas of practice, education, research, administration and policy. To do so, the Canadian Nurses Association and the Canadian Nursing Informatics Association support the adoption of the 2023 International Council of Nurses position statement, Digital Health Transformation and Nursing Practice (International Council of Nurses, 2023),"... with some additional areas of focus that you can review in the document itself.
