Earlier this month, we had the pleasure of co-hosting Hercules Tanker Management (HTM) official launch party at Dubai’s Atlantis Royal, welcoming over 300 industry colleagues, partners, and friends. The evening was a tremendous success, giving us a strong platform to introduce our vision and connect with key players in the industry. Guests also had the opportunity to meet our CEO John A. Bassadone and the entire HTM team, making the evening even more memorable. Our thanks go to everyone who joined us to celebrate this significant milestone. Here’s to navigating a successful future together! #energyflowing #energymatters

We are excited to announce the expansion of our physical supply network into the Houston market and surrounding areas. This is a testament our hybrid business model. We can work physical business alongside our reselling portfolio to optimise choice and quality for our global customer base. Our re-entry will be led by Houston-based Mike Parrent who joins Peninsula as Physical Desk Manager, and Elisha Frank as Operations Executive. #energyflowing #Houston #bunkering

Peninsula's ‘Levante LNG’ Positions Algeciras as a Hub for Maritime Decarbonisation. This article, published by Enagás on 22 November, highlights the transformative impact of the Levante LNG project in advancing sustainable maritime transport and reducing emissions in southern Spain and Strait of Gibraltar. The Levante LNG bunker vessel began operations in September 2023, sourcing LNG from Enagas regasification plants, primarily in Huelva. With a capacity of 12,500m³, it has become the most active LNG supply vessel in southern Spain and Strait of Gibraltar this year and is the only one of its kind operating in Andalucia. It is 50% owned, chartered and commercially operated under exclusivity by Peninsula, a global leader in sustainable bunkering solutions. The Levante LNG project is a result of an initiative from the Autoridad Portuaria Bahía de Algeciras - Port of Algeciras to improve air quality in the port and its surrounding areas, it was driven by Enagás through its subsidiary Scale Gas and Peninsula. The project included the construction and operation of the Levante LNG, a liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering vessel, and is co-funded by the European Union's Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) programme. In the last post of this short series, Jeroen de Vos details how the new change on ISO 8217:2024 will play a key role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and supporting the shipping industry’s commitment to combating climate change. #energyflowing #ISO82172024 #energytransition
🚢🌱 The release of the 7th edition of ISO 8217:2024 marks a major leap in the integration of low-carbon liquid fuels—including biodiesel—into the marine fuel supply chain. 🌱🚢 This change will play a key role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and supporting the shipping industry’s commitment to combating climate change. A critical aspect of this new standard is the focus on ensuring that biodiesel blends—up to 100%—meet rigorous performance standards, maintaining engine efficiency and reliability for ship operators worldwide. The inclusion of biodiesel will help the industry take significant strides towards decarbonisation without sacrificing operational performance. What is important to highlight is that for biofuels, specification parameters such as oxidation stability, cetane number and energy content have been included to ensure that biofuels and blends perform on par with conventional marine fuels, guaranteeing safety and consistency across all fuel types. Personally I think it is highly recommended that the industry will start adopting and using the 2024 revision of ISO 8217 as this new standard aligns the maritime sector with global sustainability goals, creating new opportunities for greener shipping solutions while maintaining the reliability that the industry depends on and ensures that fuels are delivered to the latest quality standard and test methods. CIMAC has published helpful advice on a range of marine fuel-related topics, and recently published new guidelines in response to questions related to ISO 8217:2024, as well as a revised guideline on the Interpretation of Marine Fuel Analysis Test Results. Jeroen de Vos continues to guide us through the 7th edition of ISO 8217:2024. An important detail on the new edition is that it cancels and replaces the previous 2017 edition of ISO 8217 as it is technically revised. #energyflowing #ISO82172024
🚢 The 7th edition of ISO 8217:2024 Marine Fuel Specification reflects the maritime industry's shift towards more sustainable energy solutions and the growing influence of environmental regulations 🚢 For the first time, biofuel blends are formally included in the ISO 8217 framework, signifying their role in the evolving regulatory landscape. The momentum is high for biofuels. We know today that biofuels will never be the dominant fuel of the future, but along with LNG, they are considered to be the optimal steppingstones on the path to decarbonisation. Their inclusion in the standards brings new opportunities for the shipping industry to reduce emissions and align with global climate goals. The specification also introduces enhanced testing methods and updated fuel categorisation, setting the benchmark for quality and performance. As the maritime sector moves towards more sustainable operations, biofuels and LNG provide critical solutions, helping bridge the gap between current fuels and future renewable alternatives. Important detail on the new edition is that it cancels and replaces the previous 2017 edition of ISO 8217 as it is technically revised.
