🚨 PSA: Trans and non-binary folks deserve to be hired and invited to speak (especially now!) all year-round—not just for visibility days! 🚨 It's fascinating how many emails I get the closer we get to observation days. "We invite you to speak on Transgender Visibility Day". "We would love for you to run a workshop for our employees on -insert a visibility day-". While I HIGHLY support organisations who choose to mark these days with expert knowledge to educate their staff, I sometimes wonder: What about the other days? Or are you checking a list trying to land an award? As the founder of The Ecofeminist Institute and an expert in gender, climate justice, and intersectionality, I offer dynamic, thought-provoking, and engaging keynotes, workshops, and training that go beyond buzzwords to drive real change. Some ways I can support your organization: 🌿 Keynote speaking – covering hashtag #ecofeminism, #queerecologies, and inclusive workplaces ⚡ #LGBTQIA+ inclusion & equity training – tailored for teams, leadership, and committees 📖 Writing & consulting – from DEI audits to thought leadership pieces 🌎 Climate justice & intersectionality workshops – connecting social and environmental justice 👥#Panel discussions & collaborations – because big ideas deserve big conversations, and I guarantee a hell of a conversation starter! Hiring trans and non-binary experts isn’t just a one-day thing—it’s a commitment to deeper, long-term inclusion. If you're ready to take action (or just curious to learn more), let’s chat! #Ecofeminism #TransDayOfVisibility #DiversityAndInclusion #LGBTQIA #ClimateJustice #KeynoteSpeaker https://lnkd.in/eQ3GNGBi

One of the things that I am most proud of is speaking up for #Ireland via Union of Justice! Climate justice policies should never be gender, minority, nor migrant neutral. Ireland, like many other countries in Europe, has ambitions yet fails to be inclusive when it comes to the #UNSDG simply because we (yes, people of colour, migrants, queer people, indigenous people, people with disabilities, etc.) need a seat on the table where decisions are being made. Thank you, Union of Justice, for giving me a voice and for sharing my input. You can find the full report here: https://lnkd.in/dxrY26S8

Today is the International Holocaust Remembrance Day, a reminder of the unspeakable tragedies that arise from unchecked hate, division, and extremism. 80 years later, we are collectively watching the rise of the far right and the persistence of extremist ideologies take over many of the most powerful economies in the world. This triggers the urgent need to dismantle systems that exploit, divide, and perpetuate harm as we are watching the repetition of a toxic cycle in the history of humankind. Ecofeminism offers a pathway forward by challenging the interconnected domination of people, ecosystems, and resources, and replaces the logic of violence with frameworks rooted in care, interdependence, and equity.

If you can read this, happy belated new year to you! 🥳 Last December, I made the exciting move to Munich, Germany and began a new chapter by joining the European Geosciences Union (EGU). This opportunity allowed me to connect with brilliant minds, work with an excellent team of wonderful human beings, while continuing my work as the founder of The Ecofeminist Institute. Over the past 12 months, I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with several organizations where we worked on advocacy strategies and setting up the right inclusive framework(s) for their programs which revolve around climate justice, gendered climate issues, racialised climate change precarities, and more. Our goal: Reshaping narratives, educating, finding a common ground for different worldviews, and shaping a better, more inclusive future for our planet and all species. I want to take a moment to express my gratitude and appreciation to all the individuals and organizations who trusted both me and The Ecofeminist Institute in 2024. We’ve taken meaningful steps towards shaping policies, creating educational programs, and pushing the work for an even greater collective human evolution. Our work has just begun. There is so much more we can accomplish in the coming years, and I’m thrilled to share that a couple of exciting projects are already in the making. I cannot wait to share them with you soon and invite you to be part of the journey! In the meantime, I hope you’ll find moments to rest and recharge. None of us can pour from an empty cup, and the work ahead requires our collective strength and resilience. Sending you all love and inspiration as we step into 2025 together. Let’s keep moving forward, one determined, resilient, and focused step at a time. 🥳

Why is it, now more than ever, important to incorporate intersectional ecofeminism in climate disaster response? I am sure that , on the EU scale, we're all still processing not only that the European continent is the fastest warming continent on our planet, but also that floods, wildfires, and storms have become our reality. Recent disaster studies have been using intersectionality to understand how vulnerability changes over time and in different contexts (Urban, rural, etc.). The result, as expected, is that social inequalities are a key factor in determining people’s exposure to risk, their sensitivity to disasters, and their ability to recover from climate induced disasters. Vulnerability was also found to be not just an individual trait but is deeply shaped by social systems that maintain inequalities over time and across locations. This is why I am proud to lead this first of its kind workshop during the DialoguePerspectives. Discussing Religions and Worldviews e.V. conference "Reflecting the Past, Envisioning the Future", where I will teach participants about the importance of intersectional ecofeminism in climate disaster mitigation / response on both the societal and policy levels. #climatedisaster #ecofeminism #riskmitigation #climatevulnerability European Parliament European Commission European Environment Agency European Environmental Bureau The Ecofeminist Institute Reference to my above statement: https://lnkd.in/d3qEaZCK

Since it's Black History Month, it's important to reflect on climate and energy justice globally through the lens of BIPOC communities. Navigating the world in a Black or any other non-Caucasian body often means facing systemic disadvantages, marginalization, and discrimination especially in predominantly white spaces. These inequities shape all aspects of life, from accessing healthcare and education to economic opportunities and even access to basic resources like energy. Across the globe, Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour (BIPOC) communities are disproportionately affected by environmental and social injustices, including energy poverty. As the world grapples with the dual crises of climate change and several enmeshed forms of inequality, the concept of energy justice has emerged as a crucial part of the conversation due to the need for a fair and inclusive transition to renewable energy.
