Over the past year, Aga Khan Agency for Habitat India, in collaboration with the Municipal Corporation of Mira-Bhayandar, has been working to develop a comprehensive City Climate Action Plan. This plan addresses key areas such as energy efficiency, green building practices, flooding and water management, urban greening, mobility, air quality and waste management. AKAH has gathered extensive primary and secondary data, conducted sector-specific analysis, and identified opportunities to build resilient and sustainable urban environments. As part of this initiative, AKAH is implementing cooling solutions in housing societies, schools, and informal settlements to mitigate heat stress and enhance thermal comfort. To further refine and advance actionable strategies, AKAH is organizing a peer review workshop with sectoral experts to foster dialogue on practical solutions, while fostering collaborations that promote climate action strategies aligned with state and national policies, towards reducing carbon footprints at the city and neighborhood level.
