The 8th CASSINI Hackathon in Ukraine, launch your space startup on November 22-24! The event will bring together participants from 10 European countries, competing for both local and international prizes. Main Goal is to develop innovative solutions leveraging European space technologies to strengthen Europe’s defense and security. The hackathon is open to anyone interested in entrepreneurship, the defense industry, or EU space technologies. Challenge Themes: 1️⃣ Enhancing defense and security through geospatial intelligence; 2️⃣ Utilizing unmanned drones for defense and security operations; 3️⃣ Orbital security: collision avoidance. To participate in the CASSINI Hackathon, it is not necessary to be a space engineer, a programmer or even a data scientist. Olena Samborska (President of IT Ukraine Association and Managing and HR Director of DXC Luxoft Ukraine) participated the panel discussion titled “The New Reality of Ukrainian IT: A Company Market, Not a Candidate Market,” at the annual START conference, organized by AIN and Kyiv Academy of Media Arts. Main points: 📊 The IT industry is currently experiencing a turbulent phase in the global market, with significant differences in the situation of Ukrainian companies. Some are facing staff reductions, while others have reported substantial hiring throughout the year. This showcases the industry’s adaptability in times of economic uncertainty. 📈 The improvement in hiring among companies operating in global markets to positive economic shifts and the absence of sharply negative forecasts. Another contributing factor is the proactive nature of these companies and their ability to demonstrate efficiency and retain clients. 🔖 The outlook for 2025 largely depends on the state of the markets and, most importantly, the stability of demand from clients and partners. Workforce reductions reflect broader market trends where tech companies strive to enhance efficiency and maintain resilience in response to challenges. 🌐 In the face of economic instability and global transformations caused by russia’s military aggression, even the most innovative Ukrainian companies, well-known abroad, particularly in the U.S. market, are compelled to adapt. Nevertheless, the situation remains unique to each company.

🇺🇦 #Resistance1000! On November 19th, the country crossed the mark of a thousand days since the full-scale invasion of the russian aggressor into Ukraine. Amid the wartime conditions of over 10 years, Ukrainian IT companies are showing their resilience, strength and unwavering unity, as they continue to work and support the economy. 🪖 The project ‘1000 days of Resistance,’ initiated by the #ITUkraineAssociation, is aimed to illustrate the activity of Ukrainian IT companies that are part of the ITU. Our goal is to showcase how the IT community supports colleagues, society, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Maria Shevchuk (CEO #ITUkraineAssociation) with Oleksandr Yefremov (CEO of GovTech #ITUMember company Kitsoft 🇺🇦), Interviewed by SPEKA on Ukraine's Digitalization of Public Services. They shared insights into who managed the digitization of public services before 2019, the changes brought by the Ministry of Digital Transformation, and key steps in digitization from 2019 to 2024. 🏅 In 2024, Ukraine ranked 5th in the world for the development of digital public services and 1st in e-Participation, demonstrating a high level of citizen engagement in government processes through online platforms. Mariia Shevchuk, Executive Director of the IT Ukraine Association, discussed the journey to this success and analyzed the challenges faced during digitization. According to Mariia Shevchuk, one of the key outcomes of digitization has been the increased trust of citizens in the state. The implementation of innovative solutions like "Diia" illustrates how digitization can be not only convenient but also effective in combating bureaucracy and corruption.
