Exciting times at Beds & Bars with the Rising Stars program underway! 🌟 This week we’re thrilled to kick off another round of the Rising Stars program here at Beds & Bars! This twelve-month journey grants driven and dedicated team members across our company the opportunity to grow, connect, network and unlock new career possibilities. Through intensive training and building invaluable bonds with colleagues from all departments, this year’s Rising Stars are poised and ready to take the leap into the next stages of their careers. This year our participants come from various sites and departments, and although their everyday roles are hugely varied, their goal is shared: to learn, grow, and lead together. The first episode begins here in Berlin, where the participants have been introduced to each other and the program. A Major Milestone for Beds and Bars Ltd: Murray Roberts Announces Retirement After Nearly Three Decades! Today, we announce the retirement of Murray Roberts as Managing Director of Beds and Bars Ltd after an incredible journey spanning almost 30 years, with the last decade at the helm as MD. During his leadership, Murray guided our group to remarkable growth, doubling our turnover and tripling EBITDA, all while expanding our footprint across major cities in Europe. Murray’s leadership, commitment, and mentorship have been invaluable, and while he steps down from his day-to-day role, his legacy and wisdom will continue to inspire our team and the broader youth travel industry. A true advocate for the sector, Murray's influence extends beyond Beds and Bars, including his work with BETA, Pub Aid, and the World Hostels committee during the pandemic. We are excited to announce the restructuring of our leadership team. Luke Knowles will step into the role of CEO, while Founder Keith Knowles will take on the position of Executive Chairman. Our incredible senior team, including Gemma Placey, Sophie Herbert, Chris Lambert, and Jan Kroezen, remains committed to driving innovation, enhancing customer experience, and pursuing sustainable expansion. International breaks can often feel like sport has dried up, but certainly not for those that look beyond football, and especially venues that have been able to capitalise on the fantastic London NFL games. Seeing so many NFL fans this Sunday at the powerhouse site of Belushi's London Bridge was brilliant. It had a fantastic atmosphere, brilliant service and an experience that made the evening NFL games feel like a Superbowl event. Over the past few months Beds and Bars have been working closely with Meningitis Now and have collaborated for this years annual Live Your Life event. A total of £21,182 was raised for the charity. The money will provide vital support to those affected by meningitis and help to rebuild futures too. 🧡 Our Live Your Life event has always been a very important one to us at Beds and Bars. It's a week dedicated celebrating life but also supporting a charity through fundraising and raising awareness. Meningitis Now is an incredible charity whose vision is to see a future where no-one in the UK loses their life to meningitis and everyone affected gets the support they need to rebuild their lives.
