  • If you feel this way ↓ It’s challenging to build connections when you naturally see beyond the surface and others seem content with it. But remember, people can only meet you as far as they've met themselves. Not everyone has ventured into their own depths, and that’s okay. Embrace your depth, even if others can’t match it. Have you felt this way in any of your relationships? Comment 'SAFE' to order my book on High-Functioning Anxiety and let's get you thriving 🤍 #drlalitaa #anxiety #mentalhealth #psychologist

  • Have you ever shared or heard something at night that you wouldn't have during the day? 👀 When we’re physically tired, our mental filters weaken, and we’re less guarded. The exhaustion quiets the noise of overthinking, making it easier to speak freely. It’s as if the weight of the day’s fatigue lowers our defences, allowing raw honesty to surface. That’s why those midnight talks often reveal truths we wouldn’t share in the light of day. Comment BELIEF to join my Webinar on Imposter Syndrome 🤍 #drlalitaa #anxiety #mentalhealth #psychologist

  • We all know people who say the right things but don’t follow through with actions. Your parents might sense when someone’s intentions aren’t pure. Kids have a way of noticing when someone’s kindness isn’t coming from the heart. And your friends? They can usually tell when support is conditional or fleeting. The key is to trust yourself to see through the surface, and lean on the wisdom of those who truly care for you. Have you ever had someone in your life sense fake support before you did? • Double tap if the message resonated with you! 💛 Our self-worth is the relationship we hold with ourselves that others can’t always see. It’s how we speak to ourselves and connect with others and the world around us. Often we can struggle with our worth behind the scenes as we may fear others seeing the “real” us. It’s important to embrace this part of us. I always find when I envision this part as a younger child or my inner child who needs nurturing I can show compassion. It’s really powerful how that can change the way we relate in the world around us. If this resonates with you, I have something for you... • I’d love to hear your thoughts. 💭 If a child is raised in a family where they feel responsible for meeting their parents needs, they do not learn to recognise the importance of their own. This child will continue to repeat this same pattern into adult relationships leading them into codependent relationships and can feel resentful when they keep giving giving giving and not being appreciated for what they do. Please note this video is not intended to blame our parents but to help us deep dive into some of our past relationships to help us to understand our patterns and why we show up the way that we do. Also, we each have a completely different upbringing and can show up with different behaviours. And there are so many different layers to codependency and people pleasing that are different for each of us. • For my followers with relationship anxiety: While open communication is vital, constantly bringing up every little worry can create tension and make the relationship feel heavy. Instead, try giving yourself a bit of space before discussing smaller concerns. Focusing on solutions within yourself first can strengthen your relationship by showing your partner that you trust them without needing constant reassurance. ❤️ When a concern truly matters, bring it up thoughtfully and calmly, rather than in the heat of the moment. This helps you focus on what’s truly important and builds a stronger, more resilient connection with your partner. • Do you feel unsettled/bored in a calm, stable relationship? For those raised in environments where conflict and chaos were the norm, peace can feel foreign. It’s common to associate intensity with connection, so when things are calm, it might feel like something’s missing. This can lead to unconsciously stirring up drama to recreate the sense of "home" they once knew, even if it wasn’t healthy. Learning to embrace stability as a source of comfort rather than boredom can be a journey—but it’s one that leads to healthier, more fulfilling relationships in the long run.
