ATW Events

2024 has truly been a remarkable year for ATW, one that I can only describe as a transformative turning point. Looking back to this time last year, ATW was already delivering exceptional events, earning the trust to organize prestigious occasions such as the British Champs, BUCS, Super Series, and World & European qualifiers. However, the challenges in the events industry—particularly the persistently low entry numbers since 2020—had been a source of frustration. At the start of 2024, we faced an even greater challenge with 4 fewer employees, and I admittedly had concerns about how this might affect the team's morale & workload. But I needn’t have worried! The ATW team rose to the occasion in the most inspiring way. Rather than feeling uncertain, everyone came together, embracing new business initiatives and becoming a stronger, more unified force than ever before. Having previously worked as a contractor across numerous businesses, I can genuinely say that the ATW team is the best, most loyal, dedicated, & fun group of people I have ever had the pleasure of working with. In terms of events, ATW successfully delivered 69 of our own events in 2024, all with a greatly improved number of entrants while also providing event services for another 79. Our chip timing team performed wonders, matching last year's revenue with half the staff. We delivered several rounds of the British Triathlon Federation Super Series, the British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) Duathlon, British Duathlon Championships, British Triathlon Qualifiers, and County Running Championships. Also the Inter-Services Duathlon Champs & the Inter Counties 20-mile Champs. None of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of our amazing marshals, event crew, photographers, commentators, and medical team. Additionally, ATW forged valuable new relationships with businesses like Funky Doodle, Bobble Digital LTD, & Gin & Fizz, which have significantly enhanced our event village experience and working with our team to improve our marketing visibility. I also want to express our deepest gratitude to our loyal partners and sponsors— eventrac, Racecheck ZONE3 Ltd, Craft Sportswear, Revive Active, LoveCorn, Red Bull and the Running industry Alliance. Your continued support has been vital to our success. A heartfelt thank you goes to every single one of the 40,000+ participants who crossed an ATW finish line this year. Whether you joined us for personal achievement, emotional reasons, charity, or other goals, we are grateful for the opportunity to be part of your journey. Looking ahead to 2025, we are excited to announce a new charity partnership that has the entire ATW team buzzing with enthusiasm! Along with new events on the horizon, all of our beloved ATW events will be returning for another fantastic year. James Shipley, Mike Jubb and Jamie Cowie spent the last couple of days at the Running Industry Alliance (RIA) & The Running Conference (TRC) which now also incorporates the Triathlon Industry Association. Since ATW has a foot in both camps it’s been a fascinating couple of days full of presentations, panels, insights and many conversations of swim, bike and definitely run! This is our 3rd year attending and it gets better each year. Well done to Rebecca (Becs) Richardson for another great conference. We’ll see you in 2025!

ATW Events are the UK’s leading multi-sport event company and entering our races in 2025 will also make athletes eligible to compete in our new annual race series. My Tri Ranking launched in early 2024 but has rapidly become the gold standard for scoring and ranking performances by British triathletes and duathletes. We are proud to announce the latest edition to the ATW event listings! The team will be bringing you the Bristol Triathlon, Sunday 6th July 2025 with British Triathlon Federation This fantastic closed road event will take place around Bristol Harbour! starting with a swim in the Cumberland Basin, followed by a traffic-free ride on Portway under the famous Clifton suspension bridge. British Triathlon is supporting SheRaces and Fund Her Tri UK on a project to gather feedback from women in triathlon about their experiences and how races can better support us. The survey results will be analysed and used to create comprehensive guidelines for race organisers globally, helping them implement positive changes for women. She Races has also produced guidelines for running, much of which is shared with triathlon races, but this project will ensure all tri-specific considerations are included.

Over the last 8 days ATW Events has seen over 1500 triathletes cross one of our finish lines. This number will be well over 2000 by the end of next weekend! ATW Events are the UK’s largest triathlon organisers and over the course of the season manage around 50 multi sport events each year. Tens of thousands of athletes complete a triathlon with us each year and thousands of these competitors are completing a triathlon for the first time. We have incredible partners with ZONE3 Ltd , Craftsportswear, ReviveActive, Erdinger and LoveCorn and we are keen to find a bike partner for the 2025 season.
