Welcome Hungary to the Inspiring Girls International network! We’re thrilled to have Eva Johnson as our new Chair of Inspiring Girls Hungary, leading the charge to create a brighter future for girls in the region. From persistent stereotypes to limited opportunities, too many girls grow up doubting their potential. Eva knows the difference role models can make, and is passionate about creating a community where girls can find their voice, and achieve their ambitions. “The worst feeling is working hard, knowing you’re capable, but being held back simply because you’re a woman. I hope to connect with leaders and decision-makers to break down stereotypes and empower the next generation of girls to reach their full potential.” Her advice to girls? “Never stop dreaming; never let anyone tell you what you can and cannot do.” Join us in welcoming Eva and the Hungary team to the Inspiring Girls community! “Instead of being the best immediately - remember that skills are there to be developed.” Oxford University PHD graduate, teacher and Psychology expert Dr. Alix Hibble shares her thoughts on the high pressures young people face today, particularly on girls, to be perfect. As an expert in her field, she shares how working together and leaning into our strengths as women - in particular our empathy and emotional bonding skills, can lift us all up. She reminds us that “a rising tide lifts all ships,” and when we support each other, we all have a better chance to thrive. Becoming a role model for Inspiring Girls is one way you can make a meaningful difference and help bring global equality closer to reality. By sharing our journeys and insights with young women around the world, we can empower the next generation. A note from our incredible outgoing CEO, Vicky ⬇️ 💛
Six years ago, I took on the incredible opportunity to lead Inspiring Girls International — a charity with a bold ambition to ensure that every girl, everywhere, knows she can be anything she wants to be in life. Founded by the inimitable Miriam Gonzalez Durantez, the charity had a simple yet transformative mission: to connect girls with role models who could show them that their dreams are possible. At that time, the charity had five country teams and had just secured our first partnership. The challenge was clear: figure out where to go next and how to get there! And now, in 2024, I couldn’t be more proud of how far we’ve come. Inspiring Girls now has thirty-nine country teams across the world, each led by phenomenal Team Chairs who share a passion for supporting the next generation of women. We’ve partnered with twelve global organisations who have shared our vision and helped us bring it to life. We've reached millions of people with our #ThisLittleGirlisMe social campaign. We've worked with tens of thousands of women role models and girls. And none of it would have been possible without my brilliant staff team at Inspiring Girls HQ (past and present), our global trustees who provide so much advice and encouragement, and, of course, Miriam herself as our inspirational Chair. It has been a total privilege to lead this organisation - and I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has been part of the journey over the past six years. As I get ready to take on a new challenge in January, we are looking for a new CEO to take Inspiring Girls into the next phase. So if this sounds like something you might be interested in —or know someone who might be —please encourage them to step forward! https://lnkd.in/e3Mprv4x

Sadly, too many girls are still being held back by outdated gender stereotypes. This year, our Girls‘ Aspirations Survey found that 25% of participants have been discouraged from pursuing certain careers, simply because they’re girls. At Inspiring Girls International, we’re changing that. Across 39 countries, we’re connecting girls with women role models across every field, opening doors to careers that have been ‘just for boys’ for too long. Let’s make sure every girl knows her ambitions matter, her abilities have no limits, and her future is hers to define 🙌
