✨ CREATIVE LEADERSHIP HIGHLIGHT ✨ Sophie Crofts is the Reading Development Manager for Libraries Unlimited. She works to inspire people of all ages to read for pleasure, and help develop the strategies for literacy and reading activities delivered through our public libraries in Devon and Torbay. She is passionate about the impact libraries have and their ability to raise aspiration, build communities and individuals who can flourish. Sophie is being mentored by Helen Chaloner as part of the Creative Leadership Programme. Helen Chaloner is CEO of Literature Works, leading an Arts Council England funded charity in South West England using words and stories to support creativity and wellbeing. They connect people and communities; nurture talent; and break down barriers. ✨ CREATIVE LEADERSHIP HIGHLIGHT ✨ Linzie Wishart is a peripatetic singing teacher, a lecturer, wellbeing choir leader, performing arts educator and performer with a wide range of experience across educational settings, theatres and in the community. She is passionate about performing arts in education and creativity for wellbeing. Linzie is being mentored by Emily Foulkes as part of the Creative Leadership Programme. Emily is the Director of Music for Good, a music for well-being charity in Cornwall and Founder of the Singing for Health Network. She has worked in music and well-being for more than 20 years, including a role at National Foundation for Youth Music developing and managing of national programmes and networks. In her previous position as Senior Lecturer, Emily supervised Vocal Pedagogy students in their MA studies. Emily is a Singing for Health practitioner, researcher, trainer and consultant. ✨ CREATIVE LEADERSHIP HIGHLIGHT ✨ Polly Carruthers is Co-Director for Doorstep Arts in Torbay, overseeing community engagement and development for children aged 4 to 20. As the Participation Strand Lead, she supports emerging artists and guides young people on their artistic journeys. She also leads dance and drama CPD sessions in schools and colleges, elevating teaching standards. Additionally, she is the Rural Touring Dance Ambassador, bringing high-quality performances to Devon’s rural areas. Polly is being mentored by Sara Rhodes as part of the Creative Leadership Programme. Sara Rhodes is a creative producer with a passion for making work with communities, untapping talent in unexpected places and presenting unheard stories. Sara has worked at TRP since 2012 developing large-scale, co-created programmes with communities, producing inclusive outdoor arts events, devised productions and site-specific performances. In more recent years Sara’s work at TRP has involved working internationally with the Wampanoag Nation and supporting the launch of a National Addiction Recovery Arts Network. Sara has secured creative commissions to support the development of unexpected artists, and funding to further expand TRP’s community programmes. We’re delighted to announce that Danni Watmore will join us in the role of Project Research for Cultural Education, supporting the Plymouth Cultural Education Partnership steering group \(PCEP\). Danni’s previous work as a Family Hubs Community Builder and Freelancer in Arts and Culture will be of huge value to the partnership, which works to ensure all children and young people have access to a high-quality arts and cultural education offer that responds to their needs. Her previous work includes Project Officer on the highly successful With Flying Colours Project, liaising with schools and managing the Co-Pilots Youth Steering Group programme. In the role of Project Researcher, Danni says she is most looking forward to "working with communities to creatively map Plymouth's Cultural Education offer, making sure young people's voices are at the heart of this work".
