We aim to provide Prevention, Intervention & Diversionary support to young people which not only Engages, but Empowers.

About us

Project 4 Youth Empowerment (P4YE) is a Community Interest Company born by four friends who became tired of constantly speaking about issues impacting young people negatively, so they decided to do something about it. Concerned about the number of young people involved in, or on the verge of criminality, unemployed, or not in education or training, our team decided to try to change the narrative by dedicating tailored programmes for young people. We assist young people and families by offering a range of support such as group and 1:1 mentoring, online workshops, case study workshops, a weekly youth club, advocacy, and signposting to other professional services. Prevention, intervention, and diversional work is at the forefront of what we do and what we aim for with our young people. We have been trained in Conflict Resolution and mediation and work to resolve instances that can often lead to situations of serious youth violence by using our bespoke methods. Our team has many years of experience of working with young people in a variety of settings such as youth work, teaching, specialised gang work, outreach work and working with young people with special educational needs (SEN). We also have experience in leadership, project management and media and we use our skill sets when developing projects and programmes.

Big Local Broad Green... where do I even begin? 🤧 Broad Green holds a special place in my heart. Six years ago this community embraced me, and I’ve been proud to give back ever since. This place has been such a growth era where I became the woman I am today navigating life without a traditional family unit and so I did everything I could to ensure that I gave back and served the community that received me with open arms. My time as Chair and being a partner has now come to an end with this project, its been nearly 6 years volunteering and I don't regret it one bit - deciding how to meaningfully spend £1M in the area. It has been incredibly challenging but also deeply rewarding because of all the incredible impact we've made over the years. Plus! Having a Hub in the heart of Croydon is hard work but such a dream and I have seen it first hand serve so many people in need of help, advise, food bank, events etc! Plus we brought out 300+ people to paint a huge mural on London Road! Wild! From building a Library at Legacy Youth Zone, Croydon, to funding impactful work with the likes of Mind of the Student educating over 700+ students on the importance of mental health and Project 4 Youth Empowerment - P4YE creating podcasting spaces, giving young people a space to have their say, to community gardening initiatives and to over 50+ other local projects and initiatives over the years. The next final challenge before we close our chapter as a Big Local is our Pavilion development in partnership with Common Projects on London Road, Croydon (which you see a snippet of in this video). It has been an incredibly bumpy road and we are still very much on that journey and hopefully, London Road will have a Legacy, a safe space for the local community, by the local community. While it’s bittersweet to step away at this pivotal moment in the project; if there is anything that I have learnt is that it's okay to lay your swords down and move on gracefully. The world we live in today is filled with so many challenging characters but through every challenge the mission was clear: put our community and it's people first. A huge shoutout to Crystal Carless and her team for working with us to develop this incredible video which so beautifully encapsulates the project. Also to Kelechi Onyia who recently joined the team, brilliantly leading and Project Managing and also a nod to the incredibly selfless team who preceded her, they were incredible! (Catrina Lynch) Special thanks to Local Trust for supporting us to support Broad Green! Gabriel Davies & Michal Siewniak for being an incredible support and two people who serve so effortlessly within their roles and this sector! There is much hope yet! Queenie, Over & Out ✌ #ProudtoLiveHere

  • We are thrilled to announce our collaboration with @HopeProgramme, generously funded by @ReedhamChildrensTrust, for the Creative Empowerment Programme! 🌟 This innovative programme fuses music, podcasting, and mentoring, creating a unique and engaging experience for young people. The music aspect of the programme focuses on DJ'ing, using this fun and interactive activity to discuss musical choices and explore how music influences feelings and actions. As you can see in the pictures above, our young participants have already mastered the basics of DJ'ing, and the sessions are becoming increasingly competitive! 🎶🔥 The latter part of the programme will guide these talented young individuals in creating podcasts on topical subjects, allowing them to articulate their thoughts and feelings about life. 🎙️🗣️ We're incredibly proud of the progress made so far and excited to see the amazing podcasts that will emerge from this programme. Stay tuned for more updates and shoutout to @HopeProgramme and Reedham Children's Trust for making this possible! #P4YE #HopeProgramme #ReedhamChildrensTrust #CreativeEmpowerment #YouthMentoring #DJing #Podcasting #YouthEmpowerment #MusicMatters #CommunityImpact

  • We are proud to celebrate our ongoing partnership with @StreetDoctors! Over the past few years, Street Doctors have delivered impactful workshops in our youth club space, holiday clubs, and schools, empowering young people affected by violence to keep themselves and others safe. We recently had the pleasure of them delivering two workshops to groups of young people that we have been supporting on a life-skills and empowerment programme about identity, choices and consequential thinking. Street Doctors is a movement of young healthcare volunteers who train young people with essential first aid skills, transforming them into lifesavers in their communities across the UK. 🌍❤️ Their dedication and expertise have made a tremendous difference in our community, helping to build a safer and more empowered future for our youth. Together, we continue to inspire and equip the next generation with the knowledge and confidence to save lives. Thank you, Street Doctors, for your incredible work and commitment! 🙌👏 #P4YE #StreetDoctors #YouthEmpowerment #FirstAid #CommunitySafety #LifeSavers #Empowerment #Partnership #Croydon #Empowerment #Engagement #YoungPeople #Schools

  • As we came to the end of delivering an empowerment programme last week, part of the feedback was a creative and reflective activity which allowed the young people to use words to express themselves. They used some of our organisation values and some empowering words to articulate their thoughts and feelings. The aim of the activity was to remind the young people of some of the things that we have learnt and use these cards to retain their focus. As always, in our final sessions we had lots of fun, played some games and they certainly enjoyed the PS5 🎮 some good debates and jokes 😂

  • In one of our recent Identity sessions, the mentors posed an idea to these young ladies about how to celebrate the end of the programme and the idea of P4YE Masterchef was born 👩🍳👩🏽🍳. The theme was identity, therefore the young people had to choose a dish to create that represents their identity or they identify with. This was a great way of engaging with the young people and they certainly got creative. Look out for the video post coming soon. #P4YE #Project4YouthEmpowerment #Croydon #YouthEngagement #Mentoring #Engage #Empower #EngageAndEmpower #YouthClub #Schools #Community

  • Day 1 of our HAF Holiday Club started with a fun filled session of engaged young people. The activities always vary and throughout the week we will share more pics and videos with you. Today, we are going on a trip with the young people 🥳 We are looking forward to rewarding and incentivising them. Today they completed their journals and it was lovely to read some of their testimonies and feedback from day 1. #HAF #P4YE #YouthClub #Engagement #Empowerment #Croydon #Mentoring #SupportingYoungPeople

  • Last week we had the pleasure of delivering a day of podcasting for some year 8 young ladies from @harrisgirlsacademybromley. We had a fun-filled and educational day. We were taken aback by some of the nature of the conversations and the honesty that they shared was really powerful. The young people came armed with their topics and ideas and were given some prep time to collate their points in advance of the recording. Whilst they all participated in the conversations, they also filmed the content behind the camera which was giving them yet another skill. Podcasting is a great way for the young people to share their honest thoughts and feelings in a safe space and from the feedback, it clear that the young ladies certainly felt empowered by the session. We look forward to sharing more of their content with you but for now, enjoy the pictures of the day 😍 #P4YE #Project4YouthEmpowerment #Croydon #Podcast #SupportingYoungPeople #Mentoring #Empower&Engage #YouthClub #SupportingYoungPeople

  • Some of the management team from our partners, Stirling Ackroyd (award winning estate agents) came into one of our resident schools to deliver a workshop on Careers, they gave an overview of: Their school life Decisions and choices after they left school Consequences How they got into estate agency Tips for the workplace As well as doing some mock job interviews and giving feedback, they also provided the young people with tangible opportunities if they had an interest in estate agency. We pride ourselves on ensuring that young people are exposed to as many new opportunities as possible to give them the chance to thrive. We are passionate and committed to ensuring that we do our part for them! Thanks to Dominic Easterby MCIPD Taija Bryan Kurwahn Coote for making this experience a possibility for the young people. The feedback from the sessions are always positive and we are grateful for all your efforts and your enthusiasm. 😊 #P4YE #Project4YouthEmpowerment #Mentoring #Croydon #YouthClub #Schools #Empowerment #Engagement #EmpowerAndEngage #YouthClub
