In January and February 2025, Thea Tebble and I will be travelling the length and breadth of the UK to host a series of investor and SME roundtables as part of CPI's MedTech Accelerator: Rapid Regulatory Support (MARRS) project, funded by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology. HealthTech SMEs and investors are invited to participate and share their views on investment challenges in UK HealthTech, contributing directly to a Government-funded report. In each city, we'll be hosting one investor-only roundtable and one SME-only roundtable, with a networking lunch in-between to convene local investors and SMEs. Our new paper BJPsych Journals is the output of our phase 1 SBRI Healthcare grant looking at the feasibility, accessibility & potential impact of Long term subcutaneous EEG monitoring for people with intellectual disabilities & epilepsy. The potential is significant in helping better quantifying seizure risk, understand impact of medication and/or to look at behaviours of concern which might or might not be seizures. This paper summerises 6 × 2 hour workshops done with people with intellectual disabilities & epilepsy and their families/carers. It provided us a lot of learning & knowledge. 💪🌎Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (CWFT) pioneers the use of DERM, the world’s first autonomous Artificial Intelligence as a Medical Device for dermatology🌎💪 CWFT are now deploying DERM to identify and discharge patients with benign lesions, without validation from their dermatology team. Across our 4 year partnership, CWFT have led the way for AI in dermatology, forming national conversations, creating guidance, transitioning from pilot to standard practice, and now serving as a blueprint for other healthcare systems across the globe to follow suit.   Deploying DERM autonomously enables the Trust to: ❤️ Release up to 30% of appointments with consultants for patients with skin cancer and inflammatory skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis ❤️ Discharge and reassure patients with benign lesions more quickly  ❤️ Help build a world where more people survive skin cancer Roger Chinn, Chief Medical Officer at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital said: “We are pleased to launch this innovative AI pathway for skin cancer.
