🌍 International Men’s Day: Celebrating and Supporting Men Everywhere A day to celebrate the positive contributions of men in our communities, workplaces, and families but also to reflect on the unique challenges men face, particularly around mental health, wellbeing, and societal expectations. 💬 Let’s Start the Conversation: Men’s mental health often goes unspoken, yet it’s essential to acknowledge the struggles and create safe spaces for open dialogue. Together, we can break down stigmas and encourage men to seek support when they need it. 👥 Promoting Inclusivity and Balance: International Men’s Day is about building an equitable society where everyone thrives. Let’s use today to recognize the importance of allyship, celebrate achievements, and champion the value of men’s contributions across all aspects of life. We were joined by Michael Chapplow from #ANDYSMANCLUB for a colleague networking group today, we heard from colleagues and Michael about tough times and terrible times, but also the support that can be found to create a positive and encouraging environment to be successful and save lives (some organisations added to the comments please add your own suggestions). 💙 #internationalmensday #celebratemen #menshealth #stopmalesuicide #thankamantoday #CelebratingMen #Inclusivity #SupportAndBalance

We’ve officially opened our latest #AffordableHousing scheme in Buckinghamshire! The 45 new affordable homes at Ortensia Drive in Wavendon are part of a larger 150-home development and have been built in partnership with Abbey Developments. The scheme is also home to a public art installation that depicts a sound wave in a nod to Wavendon Tower and its use during the Second World War as a recording studio for creating propaganda. Lest we forget - a tribute and a prayer has the closing lines, "Let’s honour all they’ve sacrificed For the freedoms we hold dear." Each passing Armistice Day is as humbling as the last, serving as a tribute to those who fell in historic wars and those that are still being fought now. The projects we collaborate on with veteran's charity Alabaré and construction company Lovell Partnerships Ltd hold a very special place in our hearts, a small way to honour their sacrifice. #ArmisticeDay #PoppyAppeal
❤️ Remembrance day – a memorial day observed to honour armed forces members who have died in the line of duty. At Stonewater we are proud of the projects we collaborate on offering opportunities to armed forces veterans. We teamed up with the veterans’ charity Alabaré at Drummond Park, Ludgershall and Noden’s Mews, Leominster to provide ex military personnel with work, mentoring and the opportunity to secure a new affordable home. Not only does it provide veterans, who find transitioning to civilian life difficult, with the skills and experience for a career in construction and a home but it brings their skills to the construction trade and helps to tackle the gap in the industry. We’ve seen 9 veterans celebrate the completion of their training so far with further cohorts continuing to work on site at Drummond Park over the next 4 years, bringing the total to 21. We look forward to continuing to participate in these partnerships and continue to honour our armed forces, their families, and communities in this way. G. P. Providing the best possible customer service is our priority and our teams recognise how important issues like this are. It’s great to receive this positive feedback from The Housing Ombudsman. Case findings are an opportunity to learn, consider and amend practices; but to also recognise when things are done right, and to share best practice. We're proud to wear this hat today. We’re committed to using feedback, positive or otherwise, to keep improving our services. We have a huge range of ways that our customers can help us to shape our services and get involved. https://lnkd.in/e4Br-H3s
Celebrating good practice 👏👏👏 The Ombudsman shares learning from a range of complaint findings, including no maladministration such as in this case. We made this finding after Stonewater dealt with a window safety case effectively. The landlord sent a surveyor who recommended repairs, which were raised and acted upon. The resident wanted the windows to be replaced but the landlord felt they could be repaired and relied on the advice of its surveyor. The landlord took appropriate action to try to resolve the issues. Its decision to repair rather than replace the windows within the property was fair and reasonable in the circumstances. Reflecting on this case, Richard Blakeway, Housing Ombudsman, said: “The landlord treated the resident’s reports seriously and took appropriate steps to repair the windows – the sort of action it is vital all landlords take in an area of increasing concern for us.” You can read more on this case here: https://ow.ly/1b9J50TWVv5 #ukhousing #GoodPractice
