We're excited to announce the construction of Tower Solar, a 166 MWdc project in Morrow County, in collaboration with QTS Data Centers and Meta. It is expected to create 200 jobs and pay about $20 million in combined PILOTs (payment in lieu of taxes) and property taxes. “We are pleased to work closely with some of our largest customers to develop another utility-scale solar project in Oregon, the home-base for Avangrid’s onshore renewable energy business,” said Pedro Azagra, Avangrid CEO. “Projects like this are important to furthering the country’s energy independence, and represent our continued investment in the region with new jobs and tax revenue.” More: https://ow.ly/Pueb50Ujnrz #PNW Portland General Electric

November is Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience Month, a great time to shine the spotlight on our Congress Street Flood Wall Project in Bridgeport, Conn. for United Illuminating customers. This $55 million investment features an eight-foot-high wall with steel sheet piles driven 40 feet underground, ensuring stability and limiting flood water seepage. Located on the Pequonnock River near Bridgeport Harbor and Long Island Sound, the flood wall protects the Congress Street Substation from severe storms and rising sea levels, ensuring reliability for our customers for years to come. Together with National Hispanic Energy Council (NHEC), the event brought together 15 #Hispanic legislators, municipal officials, business executives, and nonprofit leaders to discuss #energy issues facing the Hispanic community.
