Grandview, Missouri: Building Tomorrow's Community
About us
Located minutes south of Kansas City along U.S. Highway 71.Grandview has grown from a strong farming town – it was here in the early 1900’s that young Harry Truman spent much time on the family farm – into a dynamic and important industrial area of pleasant residential neighborhoods, quality schools, a state of the art community center and convenient access to major highways. The 4,830-acre Longview Lake recreation area is on the city’s northeast border. Grandview is a popular choice for families who want to be in the metropolitan area, but prefer the amenities of a smaller community. Nestled along U.S. Highway 71, Grandview is centrally-located minutes south of bustling Kansas City. With its small-town atmosphere and long history of active community leaders, Grandview is able to offer its 25,000+ residents all the benefits and convenience of a diverse city.

We love a good groundbreaking and the more untraditional the better! Yesterday, elected leaders and City staff joined BRED, INC developers to "move dirt" (dirt pudding and the spoons were little shovels) on 60 new townhomes being built at 14th & Goode. These will look fantastic across the street from a newly renovated City Hall! #BuildingTomorrowsCommunity #GrowWithGrandview

Thanks to KCADC and its thoughtful leader Tim Cowden for his support, kind words, and seeing what our City can offer our citizens and the region.
President & CEO at Kansas City Area Development Council (KCADC) | Leading KC regional economic development
I get to work with many community leaders from the KC region. And there are some extremely talented professionals who are delivering big for their communities across the metro. I had the chance to drop in on my good friend, Cemal Umut Gungor, MBA, City Manager, City of Grandview, MO, this afternoon. Cemal + his team, along with visionary elected leadership, spearheaded by Mayor Leonard Jones, is literally transforming an older, first tier, suburban community, into a place all envy. Their City Hall renovation is just their most recent project. They were grateful for the major support received from Jackson County, Missouri. It’s looking good and expected to be open early next year. A quick story. We were walking down Main Street, and a citizen pulled up in his vehicle. He recognized Cemal, and told him how proud he was to live in Grandview (he’s only lived there a few years having just moved to the KC region in the late teens). What Grandview is doing is working. Leadership and diversity are its super powers. I encourage you to take some time and find your way to Grandview. Grab a meal or just enjoy the stores along Main Street (Providence Pizzeria is so good). Thanks Cemal and Jim Clay for the walkabout today. Thanks for helping make our region the best it can be.
