Big News for Geothermal Energy It’s great to see Saul Elbein spotlight the momentum building for geothermal in his latest for The Hill. Two newly passed House bills focused on expanding geothermal could help pave the way for more geothermal development. The CLEAN Act would require the Department of the Interior to sell geothermal leases on public land each year, and the HEATS Act exempts the industry from duplicative permitting requirements. Glenn Golla, our Director of Business Development - Asia, brings a wealth of experience to GreenFire Energy, with a career spanning geothermal projects across the Philippines and Indonesia. Glenn has been instrumental in driving geothermal innovation, from drilling powerful 20+ MW wells at Tiwi and Mak-Ban fields to pioneering the first forked injection well in Tiwi—a milestone in geothermal development. Beyond technical contributions, Glenn is a dedicated mentor to up-and-coming geothermal experts. Fun fact: Glenn was an amateur basketball player in the mid-1980s—he brings his teamwork skills from the court to the (geothermal) field.

Hello from Hawaii! Our team is at the Geothermal Rising Conference this week to discuss how geothermal energy can power a resilient and sustainable energy transition sooner than you think. On October 30th, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, our President Rob Klenner will join the panel “Geothermal for the United States Department of Defense,” which will focus on how geothermal energy can provide continuous, resilient power to a critical energy-dependent sector. Rob will be joined by Joseph Batir, Aubry DeReuil, Neil Ethier, Peter Marsters, Lev Ring, Ian Warren, and moderator Mike Callahan as they explore how geothermal is essential for energy security and national defense. Later in the day, from 2:50 PM to 3:10 PM, our John R.
