🌍🚢 #KHEALTHinAIR at the 17th European Public Health Conference: Exploring innovation in Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) research From 12–15 November 2024, the KHEALTHinAIR EU Project consortium had the privilege of participating in the 17th European Public Health Conference, titled "Sailing the Waves of European Public Health: Exploring a Sea of Innovation," in vibrant Lisbon. 🌞 This prestigious annual event, organized by EUPHA - European Public Health Association in collaboration with local and European partners, serves as a vital platform for advancing public health research and collaboration. 👉 Our contribution? A dynamic and engaging Pecha Kucha workshop showcasing the latest advancements and insights from the K-HEALTHinAIR project. Here’s a snapshot of what we shared: 🧪 Understanding IAQ in Europe Vânia Teófilo, PhD presented findings from our systematic review on the main #indoorair #pollutants, their sources, and factors influencing their concentrations. (Publication 🔜 ) 🏫 #IAQ in Polish Schools Artur Badyda and Adam Muszynski shared their innovative approach to measuring seasonal variations in fungi, bacteria, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in classrooms. 👵 IAQ and #Health in Older Adults Amy van Grieken highlighted the Erasmus MC Rotterdam pilot, exploring IAQ impacts on older individuals with #respiratoryconditions, alongside preliminary findings and future plans. 📊 Open Access Platform Belén Costa Ruiz gave a first glimpse of our upcoming #OpenAccess Platform, designed to make IAQ knowledge accessible to all stakeholders. Read more: 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gM5fWDtx We're inspired by the engagement and enthusiasm of the public health community and excited to keep pushing the boundaries of IAQ research for healthier indoor environments across Europe. 🌬️ #PublicHealth #IndoorAirQuality #EuropeanPublicHealth #EUPHC2024 #HorizonEurope European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA) IDEAL Cluster

✨️Proud of my former PhD student, now postdoctoral researcher, Yuan Fang! She organised a 2-day workshop at the Medical Campus of @OsloUniversity entitled: "Grand challenges in and reponses to the #ageing in #China and #Nordic countries" 🔈I had the pleasure of being invited to talk about the work that our research group at Erasmus MC does in studying the relation between the #environment and #health, and how these insights can be #translated in better #prevention and #care. ▶️ As an example I shared the interdisciplinary European 🇪🇺 KHEALTHinAIR EU Project. In which experts in #public #health, AI, Machine Learning, filtration technology and much more work together to increase the knowledge on indoor air quality determinants and sources, and their impact on health 💫 ➡️ In #Rotterdam we perform a pilot study among the older population living with #respiratory conditions. 💡We are now developing potential #interventions to improve IAQ in homes of our participants 🏠. Researchers from Warsaw University of Technology Prof. Artur Badyda (Department of Computer Science and Environmental Quality Research) and Dr. Adam Muszynski, Associate Professor (Department of Biology), Faculty of Building Services, Hydro and Environmental Engineering, have participated in the 17th European Public Health Conference 2024 titled "Sailing the Waves of European Public Health: Exploring a Sea of Innovation" in Lisbon from 12–15 November. The European Public Health Conference is an annual scientific event dedicated to #publichealth issues in Europe. Each year, the conference is hosted in a different country at the initiative of EUPHA - European Public Health Association, in close collaboration with one or more local partners. The conference actively seeks broader partnerships with other European NGOs and institutions. Our researchers presented, among other findings, the results of studies conducted within the KHEALTHinAIR EU Project (Knowledge for improving indoor AIR quality and HEALTH). 👇 👀
