✨️Proud of my former PhD student, now postdoctoral researcher, Yuan Fang! She organised a 2-day workshop at the Medical Campus of @OsloUniversity entitled: "Grand challenges in and reponses to the #ageing in #China and #Nordic countries" 🔈I had the pleasure of being invited to talk about the work that our research group at Erasmus MC does in studying the relation between the #environment and #health, and how these insights can be #translated in better #prevention and #care. ▶️ As an example I shared the interdisciplinary European 🇪🇺 KHEALTHinAIR EU Project. In which experts in #public #health, AI, Machine Learning, filtration technology and much more work together to increase the knowledge on indoor air quality determinants and sources, and their impact on health 💫 ➡️ In #Rotterdam we perform a pilot study among the older population living with #respiratory conditions. 💡We are now developing potential #interventions to improve IAQ in homes of our participants 🏠. Researchers from Warsaw University of Technology   Prof. Artur Badyda (Department of Computer Science and Environmental Quality Research) and   Dr. Adam Muszynski, Associate Professor (Department of Biology), Faculty of Building Services, Hydro and Environmental Engineering, have participated in the 17th European Public Health Conference 2024 titled  "Sailing the Waves of European Public Health: Exploring a Sea of Innovation"  in Lisbon from 12–15 November. The European Public Health Conference is an annual scientific event dedicated to #publichealth issues in Europe. Each year, the conference is hosted in a different country at the initiative of EUPHA - European Public Health Association, in close collaboration with one or more local partners. The conference actively seeks broader partnerships with other European NGOs and institutions. Our researchers presented, among other findings, the results of studies conducted within the KHEALTHinAIR EU Project (Knowledge for improving indoor AIR quality and HEALTH). 👇 👀

🚀Our colleague Belén Costa Ruiz is in Lisbon participating in the 17th European Public Health Conference, an annual event that brings together public health experts from across Europe to discuss key challenges and advances in the sector.    🔬 During the event, Belén presented the platform of the KHEALTHinAIR EU Project. 🟢 Nowaydays we spent a lot of our time indoor and the #impact of #indoor #air #quality on our #health may be bigger than we know. ✨️ Together with my collegueas from the KHEALTHinAIR EU Project I moderated a Pecha Kucha style workshop on the relevance of indoor air quality for #publichealth at the European Public Health Conference today! #EPHC2024 ➡️ Vânia Teófilo, PhD informed the audience about the results of the review on the most important indoor air pollutants and their sources. ➡️ Artur Badyda and Adam Muszynksi shared the approach taken in Poland to measure IAQ in schools assessing seasonal variation. ➡️ I provided an overview of the Erasmus MC #Rotterdan pilot in which we study IAQ among #older #people with #respiratory conditions to improve care. 🌍 Thrilled to have presented my paper at the Filtech Conference in Cologne, Germany! 🎉 It was an incredible experience to share my research on “Exploring the Effectiveness of Different Air Cleaner Technologies in Removing Air Pollutants with a Focus on Energy Saving and Costs - An Overview.” 🌱 My work dives into how various air cleaning technologies can tackle air pollutants efficiently, while also being mindful of energy consumption and costs—a crucial aspect for sustainable solutions!
