Maximizing the impact and synergy of climate change research & innovation: Communities, Platforms, Knowledge & Research

About us

When an EC-funded R&I project comes to an end, the visibility of its results often decreases significantly, resulting in ineffectiveness and redundancy. In addition, the lack of synergies between different projects leads to missed opportunities to reduce global climate vulnerability. MAIA IS AN IMPACT MULTIPLIER: We aim to act as an impact multiplier for climate research projects funded under the Horizon Europe and Horizon 2020 programs. Our goal is to make current dispersed knowledge more interoperable, accessible, usable and the results more economically sustainable. That is why we are working to provide and implement a set of effective measures to facilitate a greater dissemination, communication and interconnection of completed and ongoing EU climate change research projects. WHAT DO WE AIM TO ACHIEVE? ➡️ Coordination: Of technological structures to connect knowledge and promote climate action. Such structures include:
MAIA Portal, Connectivity Hub, MAIA Semantic Ontology, Marketplace and branches, and the Training Platform. ➡️ Creation: Successful coordination of the Climate Resilience Projects Cluster. ➡️ Activation: Activation of a pan-European community of climate-driven problem solvers and enablers. This overall objective will be operationalized through nine intertwined Specific Objectives: ✅ S01: Connecting networks of climate actors. ✅ S02: Make knowledge on climate resilience more accessible and usable for regions, cities and local communities. ✅ S03: Help climate change research projects create synergies and develop cluster activities for higher impact. ✅ S04: Aid business and exploitation services to help sustain support tools and climate resilience platforms. ✅ S05: Support the upscaling of solutions and tools produced by individual projects. ✅ S06: Expand the scope of dissemination and communication of EU climate change research projects. ✅ S07: Organise a series of dialogues. ✅ S08: Implement a Gap/ Grant agreement number 101056935
