The UTDesign Capstone teams took home honors at the ASME (The American Society of Mechanical Engineers) annual Student Manufacturing Design Competition, and Dr. David Lary earned an EDGE award from the Richardson Chamber of Commerce.

Last Friday, Dr. Roshni Anna Jacob, a Research Associate in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at UT Dallas, presented a seminar on enhancing the resilience of power networks through learning over graphs. Dr. Jacob’s research focuses on improving the operational resilience of distribution networks using graph-based machine learning, a crucial area as we face more frequent extreme weather events. Her talk covered strategies such as microgrid formation and network reconfiguration, highlighting real-time learning methodologies to enhance performance during outages.
