When was the last time you were held hostage at a hotel while attending an event? Here’s how often it happens. As an event planner, I've learned the importance of selecting the right hotel that offers amenities outside of our event space. Attendees need the option to: - Step away and recharge in a private sitting area - Catch up on work at a business center - Enjoy a meal with a few friends - Walk to attractions When you don’t select a hotel that has breathing room, guests flee to their rooms for relief. It’s the opposite attendee experience you want them to have. Hotel amenities enhances the overall experience for attendees and allows for more networking in a relaxed environment. However!!! You have to be careful to avoid overstimulating attendees with options. I think of all the Vegas hotels that have so many distractions before you even get to the event space. You want to avoid people registering for your event only to bypass programming and take a vacation on the company dime. The right amenities can make a huge difference in the success of your event! P.S. What hotel amenity do you love most? ♻️ Steal & Repost if You Agree
Oh my goodness, you've touched on something that grinds my gears. It is a fate worse than imprisonment to be handcuffed to a hotel in the middle of nowhere with no option but cable TV or the bar. You make an excellent point in flagging possible overstimulation - let's not risk people checking out from the reason they are in Boulder! But don't leave them no option but to crawl into bed with a book.
Choosing a hotel with well balanced amenities is crucial for attendee satisfaction. I went to a conference two months ago in Harrisburg PA at the Hilton and there was no breathing room in the conference room or outside the room. Another event was going on right outside of the conference. I ran to my hotel room for relief lol! My favorite amenities is a comfortable lounge area What’s your go to amenity for creating the perfect event vibe Andrew?
Andrew Roby - Event Planner - Thanks for shedding light on this topic. The aestheic, energy, and ambiance can truly set the stage for a memorable event. When travelling, I sometimes like to work from the lobby and if there is ample seating, subtle lobby music, and convenient power outlets that is a huge plus. 💼
Andrew Roby - Event Planner YES! I'm so with you. As a speaker perspective, I have been in situations where I am stuck in the hotel and I can't even leave the room without being swarmed by people... and there's nowhere else for me to go. And speaking of Vegas, it is my least favorite place to go and speak because it's just way too noise as you say
Every major trade show is held in Vegas. Do you think this is changing or is Vegas still the #1 choice?
Love the caption animations and video editing. 🔥
Andrew Roby - Event Planner... I want it to feel like home, but I also want it to be more than home. BUT, I don't want it to be so overwhelming that I just "wanna go home" 🙌🏾
This hotel are gorgeous and would definitely make me want to grab a seat at the bar or one of the lounge areas instead of a hotel room.
I love a nice swanky rooftop bar or other outlet where you can kick back, have a good meal, a few drinks and a good time.

3wmy favorite hotel amenity is a steam room, rare, but nice after a long day or trip to get there.
