This week is International Week of Happiness at Work – a time to reflect on our workplace culture where we try to build a positive and supportive working environment for our teams. At Arden, creating a workplace where everyone feels valued and appreciated is something we focus on throughout the year. Here are a few ways we work towards that: ⭐ Staff Thank You Cards – A simple way we show appreciation for each other's contributions. ⭐ Employee of the Month – Highlighting colleagues who have made a significant impact. ⭐ Team-building Events – Activities that strengthen our connections and improve collaboration. ⭐ Charity Support – This year the Arden Charity of the Year is cancer support charities, a cause close to our hearts. ⭐ Mental Health First Aiders and Wellbeing Group – Providing support for our teams' mental health. ⭐ Staff Forum – A platform for open discussions and feedback from all our workforce. ⭐ Weekly Reflections – Every Friday, we take a moment to discuss what went well and what we can improve on as a team. #HappinessAtWork #EmployeeWellbeing #WorkplaceCulture #InternationalWeekOfHappiness

The key takeaways from the event were that we have now entered a phase of acceptance and action. That we, as organisational leaders: · Better understand from research, that mental ill-health is prevalent within every team. · Acknowledge the importance of talking about mental ill-health in the workplace. · Can accept that how we feel at and about our work has a direct impact on our non-work relationships and wellbeing. · Can resolve that if we don’t invest and take proactive action in an evidence-informed way, there are direct financial and cultural impacts. · Accept that WHS regulation and the Positive Duty legislation is now clear for Directors and executive leaders, with clear penalties if we fail to meet our duty of care. Today, on RU OK? Day, we take extra care to reflect on the importance of checking in with those around us. We know that mental health is just as important as physical health, especially in our industry where stress and pressure are constant. Suicide is the leading cause of death among Australian men aged 15 to 44, surpassing both car accidents and cancer. That’s why today’s message is so vital: checking in with a mate could make all the difference. Our Step Up and Check In initiative is all about connection, care, and supporting one another, as we encourage all our teams to take a break, connect with a colleague, and have meaningful conversations about how they’re doing. A special thanks to Kosta's Takeaway for generously donating coffees to all participants, reinforcing the importance of checking in. In addition to today’s efforts, we’re proud to be part of the STEPtember challenge, which not only focuses on physical health but also promotes mental health and team connection. We’re proud to be ranked in the top 5 in our industry for our efforts, having raised an impressive $6,445 and stepped a total of 4,508,482 steps so far! Here’s why we chose to step up: - 80% of participants see a positive impact on teamwork and connection. - 83% reports improvements in health and wellbeing. - 71% see increased awareness around accessibility, disability, equity, and inclusion. Together, we’re creating a workplace where everyone feels valued, supported, and empowered to make a difference – both inside and outside of work. Thank you for joining our efforts: https://lnkd.in/gFTaCABR #RUOKDay #Steptember #Teamwork #Wellbeing #MentalHealthMatters #Inclusion #ConnectingPeopleAndPlaces #Safety #WorldSuicidePreventionDay

Yesterday was World Safety and Health Day at Work, a day that is here to remind us of the importance of workplace safety. While climate change poses new challenges for outside workers, many office safety concerns are closer to home. Increased workloads, remote work, and the informal economy require flexible yet comprehensive safety protocols. Issues such as the following need to be carefully addressed in the office workplace: 👉 Ergonomics: Long hours at desks can lead to musculoskeletal disorders. 🧠 Mental health: Work-life balance and stress management are crucial. 💨 Indoor air quality: Ensure proper ventilation to avoid respiratory issues. We know first-hand the impact stress has on our mental health. Which is why we’re running the Tough Mudder to raise donations for Mind charity come July. What steps can we take, as employers and employees, to ensure a safer and healthier office work environment for everyone? Share your thoughts in the comments! #WorldSafetyAndHealthDay #OfficeSafety #WellbeingAtWork

#InternationalMensDay is a global day to celebrate men who inspire, support, and contribute to our communities every day. Here at MVP Recruitment & Talent Solutions, we would like to take this opportunity to recognize and thank the talented men who are integral to our business. 👏 However, today is not just about celebrating men but also about advocating for their health and wellbeing and highlighting the critical challenges they face. Men are significantly less likely to seek help for mental health issues. According to the World Health Organization, men are three times more likely to die by suicide than women. This alarming statistic underscores the urgent need for better mental health support and awareness. In the fast-paced and high-pressure recruitment and logistics sectors, this concern is pronounced. To address these challenges, we have implemented several initiatives to promote health and wellbeing for all within our organisation, as well as for the clients we serve: Mental Health Committee: Collaborating across the entire business to gather feedback and create an inclusive, accessible roadmap of information, resources, and support. This includes a comprehensive Mental Health and Wellbeing Policy. MHFA Training: Investing in Mental Health First Aid training for several employees and partners who now play crucial roles as Mental Health First Aiders within our team. Enhanced Employee Benefits: Partnering with our new employee benefits provider to introduce a suite of mental health and wellbeing benefits, including unlimited mental health support for all employees. Flexible Working: Reviewing our working arrangements and implementing flexible working/shorter hours. Client and Candidate Support: Offering advice and guidance to our valued clients and candidates on promoting mental health and wellbeing. Finally, a massive thank you to all our fantastic employees and Business Partners who make this a wonderful and diverse family of talented individuals, who support and care for one another. Let’s keep the conversation going and continue to champion health and wellbeing for all. #InternationalMensDay #MensHealth #MentalHealthAwareness https://lnkd.in/eB8wx2sk

We believe that supporting the mental and physical wellbeing of our staff is fundamental to fostering resilience and enabling our teams to thrive both personally and professionally. Outdoor walks: Our teams took part in group charity walks, enjoying fresh air and team bonding while raising vital funds for local charities. Open conversations: Our wellbeing lunches provided a space for staff to connect and openly discuss mental health. Team activities: We took part in fun challenges to strengthen team spirit, both in and outside of the workplace. So often we focus on our physical health, but how many of us prioritise our social wellbeing? Social wellbeing refers to our ability to develop and sustain meaningful relationships with those around us. The average worker in the UK spends more time with their colleagues than anyone else in their lives, so this #WellbeingWednesday what can we do to improve our workplace wellbeing? Charity days: participating in local charity initiatives as a team can establish a sense of community and promote generosity. Societies: getting involved in workplace societies or interest groups provides opportunities for bonding beyond work tasks. Team lunch: regular team lunches or coffee breaks can help staff to unwind and connect on a personal level. Nights out: occasional team outings or social events can strengthen team camaraderie and morale. Buddy system: a buddy system, where colleagues support each other professionally and personally, fosters a culture of mutual care. Complaint procedure: establishing an open-door policy for addressing concerns ensures that everyone feels heard and valued. Worker wellbeing is at the centre of everything we do at MOHS. This #GivingTuesday, let’s celebrate the power of collective generosity. 🌍✨ Designed to inspire giving and charitable acts by harnessing the power of social media, Giving Tuesday is a global movement that reminds us of the impact we can make together. Research shows that giving not only uplifts communities but also spreads positivity in the workplace. Acts of generosity boost trust, cooperation, and morale while reducing stress and enhancing productivity. Even small acts of kindness can trigger a “helper’s high,” improving mental health and strengthening connections among colleagues. In today’s world, where employee wellbeing drives success, fostering generosity at work is a win for everyone. Let’s inspire change, one act of kindness at a time.
